Check out this mahoooosive Goliath Bird Eater Tarantula shed we got off of 😱🕷️

So grateful to have been given this to work on and we're so happy with the finished piece! 🌿

Complete with foraged tree bark, moss, ethically sourced bird bones, florals, crystals, a pyritized ammonite and a lil woodlouse 🪲

We'll be bringing this monster to the .handmade.and.vintage which will be open for a three day fair Friday, Saturday and Sunday! We'll be near Ned's Noodles/Pret a Manger dressed in our spookiest attire 😜 We hope to see some of you there!

Send in the dolls! 👧⚰️🎃

Introducing our Once Alive Designs Natural History miniature museum! So excited to announce our new range of dollhouse miniature taxidermy as I've been working on the museum for around a year now 🥰 when posting a swap previously we listened as so many of you wanted a piece for yourself!

Come see it in person first at the .handmade.and.vintage fair, open Friday 30th, Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November ⭐

We've made up miniature curio cabinets featuring beetles, bees, moths and little butterflies and some mini bug and bone frames 🪲🦴

We can't wait for this one, hope to see some of you there! 💖

The Death's Head Hawk Moth 🦋

For the Winter/Halloween fair .handmade.and.vintage next weekend, we're bringing this piece and plenty of other spooky bits! 🎃

It'll be a three day fair, filled with other fabulous vendors and we can't wait! It's our favourite one of the year 🥰

Look out for sneak peaks coming on the week running up 👀

The Scarce Swallowtail 🦋

This butterfly is known for it's tiger stripes and long slender tails 🐯

It is found across Europe, parts of Asia and can be a rare migrant to the UK! 🌍

The Mango Tree Longicorn Borer Longhorn Beetle 🪲🥭

A few people found this buddy a lil scary at our last fair but I still wanted to show him off as we find him pretty sweet! Displayed in a vintage wooden box frame with a moss border 🌿

These beetles are known to attack mango trees (hence the name) and are found throughout Asia 🌏

We'll be bringing him to the .handmade.and.vintage fair later this month!

The Dark Blue Pansy Butterfly 🦋

Native to Africa, this stunning creature is named after the blue spots on its hind wings 💙

Females tend to have duller blue or purple patches compared to the blues of the males, showing a sexual dimorphism as seen in most butterflies

Showing off our first pet memorial piece! 🕷️🪻

We got sent Andrew, the Pink Toe Tarantula, who had recently passed away 😢 very grateful to his owners though who trusted us to make him a forever home 🥰

He now resides in his own little globe home, complete with the cork bark he used to rest on in his enclosure 🥹 with forget me not flowers, crystals and blue berries to match Andrew 🪻 He is a very tiny fella so it may be hard to spot him at a first glance!

It's moments like these that makes us so grateful to be getting to do what we love most 🥰

The Garden Tiger Moth 🦋

I am absolutely in love with tiger moths and I think the Garden Tiger Moth is one of my favourites! The stunning patterns act as a warning to predators as the moths bodily fluids are poisonous ☣️

These species are night-flying moths, and prefer colder climates. They can be found throughout the US, Canada and Europe 🌎
