Btw…… what a fantastic event at one of our more intimate sessions.

Last night, for the first time at our Glasgow event we focussed on the room, our members and our lovely guests.

Everyone got a chance to shine and introduce themselves and instead of a guest speaker doing all the talking we had way more time to focus on what really matters - building genuine relationships.

This is what Tartan Talks is all about, community, collaboration and actually listening to each other.

I hope everyone left with new connections and plenty inspiration to keep them going until the next one.

It was great to be asked on the show earlier in the week.

Tbh it was super chilled and really enjoyed being on the other side of the mic for a change.

During the episode we spoke about where it all began, our vision for the future, family life and also the MDS 🔥 looking forward to the release of this episode.

At Tartan Talks, it’s all about getting the right people in the room to support each other, learn from each other and hold each other accountable for doing what we say we’re going to do.

Every event brings together business owners from across Scotland who are willing to share experiences, challenges, wins and lessons that can genuinely help others grow.

One of the standout points from Jamie Taylor was around how the first sale is always the hardest. Instead of giving everything away for free like many companies do, Jamie gets potential customers to pay upfront for part of the process.

It’s a clever way of pre qualifying customers and creating a level of commitment before any real business even begins. The people who are serious will invest, and that completely changes the quality of the customer relationship from day one.

There’s always something powerful to take away from these conversations, and that’s exactly why Tartan Talks continues to grow.

What a fantastic night at last night’s Tartan Talks Edinburgh Connect!!

It was amazing to catch up with so many familiar faces as well as meet plenty of new ones too, a huge thank you to everyone who came along and contributed to such a great atmosphere.

Last night, the focus was all about the room and our members where everyone had the opportunity to speak, meaning we all got a better understanding of who was in the room, what they do, and how we can support each other moving forward.

These conversations are what make the community so valuable, building genuine relationships, creating opportunities, and helping one another grow without the stupid surface level questions or more importantly egos.

Another month, another 100% member retention at Tartan Talks.

For us, that’s the biggest testimony to what we’ve actually built here.

People don’t stay because they have to, they stay because they genuinely see value in the room, the relationships and the community we are creating together.

At Tartan Talks, we’ve never focused on just “networking”, we focus on people, real relationships, real conversations, real problems and more importantly real support.

This isn’t a room full of people trying to outdo each other but more a room full of businesses collaborating over competition, helping each other grow and pushing each other to do better.

The strongest businesses are built when good people come together with the right mindset, and that’s exactly what continues to happen month after month at Tartan Talks.

Too many people sit waiting on the “perfect time” to start.

The truth is there actually isn’t one.

At some point you need to stop overthinking what might happen, stop worrying about what other people think, and ask yourself one question…..

“What do I actually need to earn to take the plunge?”

Most people realise the number in their head is nowhere near as impossible as they’ve built it up to be.

Business takes belief, belief in yourself when nobody else sees the vision yet, belief when things are quiet, belief when people doubt you and belief when you’re figuring it out as you go.

Nobody has it all worked out at the start.

Sometimes you just need to back yourself and fu***ng go for it.
