One of the best things about Tartan Talks isn’t the events themselves but more what’s happening between them.

Having connections from all over Scotland sitting right there in your pocket, in the group chat and through the app is actually pretty amazing and the thing is, most people don’t even come to our events because they’re looking for more work.

They come because they want help, support and advice.

They want to be able to ask questions, bounce ideas around, learn from people who have already been there and get a different perspective from some of the best business owners in the country and that’s what makes this community different.

You build genuine relationships with people who actually want to see you do well and of course, the work follows.

Not because you’re constantly trying to sell to each other but because when you build trust, build relationships and genuinely help one another, people naturally want to work together.

“Imagine you were part of a community where everyone was clapping for you”

Well at Tartan Talks that’s exactly what you get.

EVERY Friday at 5pm we do something called “Friday Wins” - a set aside time in the week where our members all get to share what’s went well for them that week and also what goals they have hit.

We do this because business can be lonely and if you know that at the of the week your getting to share the good bits with other businesses all “in the same boat” 😜 we find it encourages our members to push that extra bit harder.

That’s just one of the many things we have implemented into our membership for the benefit of the community….. and btw, we are only getting started 🔥🚀

We are absolutely buzzing to be celebrating TWO years of Tartan Talks this month.

To celebrate, we’re doing things a little differently, this month we are bringing together 6 incredible experts for a special panel and YOU get to interview them.

Ask your burning questions, pick their brains, challenge their thinking and get involved in what is guaranteed to be some brilliant conversations and because it’s our birthday there will obviously be cake!

Two years, 24 Edinburgh events, so many incredible people, conversations and connections.

It’s going to be an incredible night and we cannot wait to celebrate with you.

So, what actually happens at our events?

Well, for a start no two are ever quite the same however one thing that never changes is the structure.

The first part is all about value.

We want to make sure you leave having learned something you didn’t know before, a new idea, a fresh perspective, a useful insight or something you can actually take away and use immediately.

Then comes the second part…..

The people.

Because Tartan Talks has always been about more than just listening to great speakers, it’s about meeting the incredible people who come along, having conversations, making connections and being part of a room full of people who are curious, ambitious and they actually want to see you win.

So yes, every event is different but the fundamental is always the same:

Learn something new, meet someone new and leave better connected than when you arrived.

Last night we had the incredible , Communication Coach join us for an evening all about better conversations.

It was great to see everyone get involved from the very start, it really set the tone for the night, created great energy in the room and made for some in depth conversations.

We hope everyone left with real value and even better, already armed with practical tools they can use straight away to have better conversations, both personally and professionally.

A huge thank you to Cal for sharing his knowledge, energy and expertise and to everyone who came along and got involved.

A massive thank you to Calum Moore for delivering an outstanding workshop on communication last night.

Last night Cal, brought out the best in every single person that was there by encouraging us to be interested in what one another had to say, ask the correct questions and genuinely care and listen when we are having a conversation.

Massive takeaways and value for everyone to be able to immediately implement in their day to day conversations.

If you missed last nights event we will be running the exact same workshop at our Glasgow event next week, please get in touch if you’d like to come along however spaces are limited.

One of the best things about Tartan Talks has been the people it’s introduced me to.

At our last event I had the pleasure of meeting Mike Lally from Freedom Boat Club Loch Lomond and yesterday I got to experience first hand what he’s building.

We spent the morning out on the speedboat making the most of the water sports, then headed back to his incredible water lodge for a BBQ, a swim and a great afternoon on the loch.

What Mike is creating up there is genuinely something special.

Thanks again for an amazing day, Mike. I’m already looking forward to spending a lot more time on Loch Lomond.

If you’ve got even the slightest interest in boating, water sports, or just getting out on the water, I’d highly recommend getting in touch with Mike, absolute gentleman.
