This week has been a really interesting week. I have spent the majority of my time talking about , , and . These are really tough subjects and the conversation around them is really important, now is the time for a change.

One of these conversations was with a leading uk charity and we captured it using produced by our creative genius Michelle Harland.

These conversations are challenging but they are laced with insight that is invaluable, sharing in a safe and supported way is at the heart of what we do with inclusion. My lived experience of exclusion is with , and and we talk about much more including , , + and much more... we are all uniquely special.

We captured the feelings of one group at the end of the conversation, we have to remember this is hard work and it brings up lots of different views and feelings, all of which are welcome and needed.

I am ending the week feeling hopeful and looking forward to next few weeks and continuing these conversations and this journey. I am also excited about some big projects that have started to come to life this week.

As businesses start to turn their attention to the question around what is next and how they may look as we emerge from the period its time to start thinking about the role flexible working has in your future business.

To be clear, flexible working is not a policy. It is a cultural practice.

This thinking needs to be done with your teams, allowing people the space to share their ideas and views (and really hearing these) is even more important than ever. Don't focus on updating policies, that is a final piece of admin, the work is in evolving the culture. Many organisations get this the wrong way round by updating the policy and then spending time getting people to buy into it, often through a completely out of date 'read and sign' approach - that is not inclusive, engaging or effective. Work together with your talent to help shape the new way of working so you can get the best for everyone.

It reminds me of the quote by Peter Senge: 'Culture eats Strategy for Breakfast'. Ditch the focus on transaction and focus on what it's like to work in your business.
