After 3 days in the woods, it was back to normal today with a range of jobs...

Starting with a check over of a couple of lovely bikes 🚴🚴 A Vielo and Enigma, not sure which one I liked more! Both SRAM, both clean, both well looked after, both amazing! (Both my size 😜)

Then a Bosch battery capacity test... How healthy is your Bosch battery? Thinking of selling your eBike? This test is often used to give confidence to prospective buyers that the expensive battery is still in good condition and has plenty of life remaining πŸ˜€

Today was all about FROG bikes 🚴 And as I predicted yesterday, lots of cables, brake pads and bent gear hangers was the theme of the day at Chopwell Woodland Park - Forestry England.

I've checked and adjusted every wheel size, from the Tadpole balance bike, through 16", 18", 20", 24" and 26" - my cut off point size for test rides however, is the 20" wheel bike, my knees just don't bend that much to turn those little wheels and cranks! 🚴

One of the spare Forestry England gazebos came in very handy for some cover, as it's been a bit drizzly in the woods today 🌧

Lots of bike fixing on day 1 at Chopwell Woodland Park - Forestry England 🚴 I've had a busy day with new chains and brake pads for the Specialized Pitch bikes, even some cassettes and bottom brackets.

It's FROG bikes tomorrow, which from experience, will typically mean bent gear hangers, worn V-brake pads and damaged cables πŸ˜€

It's early and I'm already here and working at Chopwell Woodland Park - Forestry England, servicing approx 20 bikes, a range of Specialized and Frog, in various sizes. Should keep me very busy. What a wonderful setting for bike fixing...

The results are in... 106.52 miles, 7hr 12mins... Newcastle to Seahouses to Tynemouth for the Great North Bike Ride it was a 04:58 start, along some very dark country roads, until the sun came through to give me some light. I've had maybe 6 sausage rolls and bananas and various biscuits too! I've been absolutely soaked but ended up in the seaside sunshine πŸ˜ƒ Heading home to put my feet up and enjoy a day off tomorrow. I hope everyone else had a great ride! πŸ˜ƒπŸš΄

It has certainly been a Great North Bike Ride few days... lots of workshops are busy, me included, but being mobile, I'm adaptable enough to squeeze a few GNBR related repairs into my busy schedule.

I was in Blakelaw this morning for some problematic SRAM Double Tap gears... a front derailleur that wouldn't shift, and a rear derailleur that was badly bent. It took a little while, and a few tricks, to entice a new inner cable through the frame, and I managed to get the hanger as straight as possible. Together with some new bar tape, it's all good again.

Tom in Gateshead has a bike suffering from rear wheel spokes breaking. He's riding through August for Prostate Cancer, and recently also had issues with his rear tyre, so I've fitted a new wheel and tyre to keep him going πŸ˜€

Finally it was over to Killingworth to see Carol - a quick gear adjust and a biscuit and that bike will also be riding down from Seahouses to Tynemouth on Sunday.

And, to wrap up the week, I'll be in Blyth tomorrow morning to sort out some rattles and noisy brakes for another GNBR rider 🚴

I'm hoping to give my own bike some TLC on Saturday, as I'll also be riding the GNBR, riding 50 miles up to Seahouses from home, and then riding the GNBR back down to the coast πŸ˜€πŸš΄ I'm absolutely looking forward to some b**r and pizza on Sunday evening!!!

A trip to Morpeth this morning to service 2 x Bosch ebikes, a Carrera Crossfuse and a Haibike Alltrack 4. The Haibike is yet another Shimano CUES bike, had lots of these recently, this one was the 9 speed variant.
