Another day, another Dr Bike. 🚴

With WATBike again today; this time at Newcastle University, based at the Medical School entrance - always a busy location.

After a 40 mile ride out this morning, I pedalled another 5 miles from home to the Uni, It was a busy day, with 24 bikes checked and tweaked where possible 🚴 before another 5 mile ride home (just managing to beat the rain) πŸ˜€

I've got a welcome break now from Dr Bike until the end of the month...

Working with WATBike today at 'The Lumen', St James Boulevard. Surrounded by tall buildings, and only a stones throw down an alley way to Westgate Hill, it very much felt like coming home for Dentons! Today was a Dr Bike session arranged by Knight Frank Facilities Management for occupants of The Lumen building.

A trip to Warkworth today to complete a couple of jobs (both at the same location)... πŸ˜€I had a touch of 'Deja Vu' because I cycled through Warkworth a couple of times yesterday! πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Up first was some TLC and a drivetrain change to a Giant for Cycle With Jan. Ditching the 28 tooth cassette and using the capacity of the rear derailleur, to fit a 36 tooth option together with a new chain and cables. The bike now has much more range to the gearing, and also a smoother, better shift!

The Raleigh Motus is a Northumberland County Council eBike used by Jan. The bike had a service and an update/check/service to the BOSCH system... it's all good πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Then it was all the way back down the A1 to Ryton, to set up a new tubeless tyre!

Today was a great example of the varied jobs I carry out on a mobile basis, and the area I cover!

An early morning ride out, up to Seahouses. Currently eating brekkie and pondering the ride back home. Hopefully if will be a bit warmer and maybe even a tail wind... That would be nice! ☺️

I returned to Durham this morning to fix a problem with a brake I found earlier in the week during a bike service...

Some parts are delicate, they need careful adjustment and fastening to make sure they are safe and correct - that's not what happened to this brake disc caliper adapter last time it was worked on.

Instead of fudging a fix with wrong bolts, poor fitting and a distinct lack of a torque wrench causing damage to threads, spend a tenner on a new part and fit it properlyπŸ˜€

This bike now has brakes that work and brakes that are safeπŸ˜€
