At Echo-U, we believe a healthy team builds a healthy business.

We know that life can be fast-paced and demanding, which is why we’re committed to supporting our people - not just in their roles, but in their overall wellbeing.

We’re proud to launch a series of wellbeing toolkits to help our team stay healthy, happy, and resilient. The first in the series is all about “Switching Off – Rest and Recovery.” Because good rest underpins everything - from focus and productivity to creativity and mental health.

Some simple but powerful tips we’re sharing with our team:
🛏️ Separate stressors from sleep
☀️ Get outdoors daily
🍔 Avoid heavy or sugary foods at night
🌳 Create space between work and home life
🧠 Practice positivity

🌈 Pride at Echo-U: What Are You Unapologetically Proud Of? 🌈

At Echo-U, our best asset is our people and this Pride season, we’ve been celebrating them in the most meaningful way we can: by sharing their stories. 💬💖

We asked our team one simple question: What are you unapologetically proud of?

The answers we received were moving, honest, and deeply personal — a true reflection of the diversity, resilience, and love that runs through the heart of Echo-U.

🌈 For some, pride is rooted in family:

💬 “18-year marriage to my husband – something I never thought possible” – David

💙 One story that touched us all came from Rowan, who shared his pride in his son Jaeden — a trans man who continues to live his truth with strength and courage.

💬 “He’s battled against transphobes and homophobes of the world. He is the Pride of my life.” 🏳️‍⚧️

These stories remind us that Pride isn’t just a celebration - it’s a reflection of our values. At Echo-U, we’re proud to foster a workplace where everyone feels safe, seen, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

Wear Your Colours This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

We would love it if you wore the vibrant colours of the Pride flag this Friday and over the weekend to show your collective support for all the activity at Newcastle's very own Pride. Whether you're in the office, working from home, or relaxing with family… please do your best to support the local celebrations.

What Are You Unapologetically Proud Of?

In the office, we'll also be setting up a board where we will write out little cards sharing what we are unapologetically proud of. This is a chance to celebrate our unique self and inspire others too. Give it a try and learn about your colleagues and friends.

Let's make this Friday a colourful and meaningful display of our commitment to inclusion and support for the LGBTQIA+ community in our brilliant City of Newcastle!

🙌 A huge thank you to our amazing team!

Reflecting on this year's Volunteer Week, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone at Echo-U who got involved and gave their time to support our local community over the course of this year.

From helping Newcastle United Foundation, Smart Works, The People’s Kitchen to getting hands-on in St Vincent's in Byker, it’s been inspiring to see so many of you step up and make a difference.

Volunteering not only supports brilliant causes across the North East - it also brings real benefits to our own well-being, confidence, and sense of connection.

Our MD, Diana Bourke has been volunteering as long as she's owned a business - over 25 years! - We’re proud to be part of a team that leads with heart 💙

If you would like some ideas of where to volunteer, we can recommend lots whether you simply like helping - or history, wellbeing, gardening, theatre, sports - there's so many in our local community that need you just get in touch and we'll let you know!
