I created this series whilst also using it as an opportunity to test out AI (because I love a bit of ‘different’).

🌟 Supporting Small Businesses: A Personal Mission 🌟

Through my volunteering with Digital Boost, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with numerous new employers and very small businesses. One recurring theme is really clear: many of these businesses, especially those considering taking on their first employee, feel lost and unsure where to turn for guidance. Budget constraints make it difficult for them to engage with experts like me.

This feedback has really got me thinking. How can I provide the necessary support to these businesses in a way that's affordable, ensuring they stay compliant and set off on the right compliant footing?

I’m excited to share that I’ve created a basic onboarding pack of documents designed specifically for new employers. This pack aims to equip them with the essential tools and knowledge they need to navigate the initial stages of hiring and compliance without breaking the bank.

News Alert 🗞️

Everyone who knows me or has regular conversations with me, is aware of my dedication to supporting very small businesses by helping them to find confidence to become great employers. As a volunteer mentor for Digital Boost, I get great pleasure in knowing that I've made a positive impact on someone's business journey.

Taking it a step further, I will soon be hosting HR clinics every two weeks, where small business owners can schedule a slot to ‘lighten their load’ by having a chat with me and where required, seeking my advice. These clinics will be offered at no cost.

Are you familiar with Workplace Nurseries? 🚼

I first became aware of this concept while collaborating on a project with a global client towards the end of last year. At the time, I had numerous questions like 'is this too good to be true?' and 'why wasn't I aware of it?' 🤷‍♀️

Currently, I am partnering with a client to introduce this valuable benefit, and I highly recommend other businesses to explore this option.

What is Workplace Nursery?
It involves offering childcare services by the company, either on-site or through a workplace nursery partnership scheme with benefit partners who can assist in setting it up.

Costs for Employers?
Employers are required to pay a monthly fee per child place to cover nursery operations. However, this cost can be balanced against savings on National Insurance contributions.

What are the Benefits?
✔️Imagine employees being able to pay for nursery fees directly from their gross salary. That’s what a workplace nursery allows! By participating in a salary sacrifice scheme, parents save on both income tax and national insurance contributions
✔️Facilitates recruitment and staff retention.

Does it sound too good to be true? I had the same thoughts, but it's a real opportunity! If there is one thing you can do to support your dedicated parents, this would be it!
