Photo Gallery Call Out. 🤱🏿 📸
I’m currently conducting some research around breastfeeding within the Black community. Whilst doing so I have realised that the number of Black breastfeeding images available are limited!
I would love to collate a photo gallery of beautiful breastfeeding images to positively represent breastfeeding within the Black community.
Do you have photos of you and your baby whilst breastfeeding? Would you be willing to share?
Also there are little to no images available of women/parents who have skin ailments/conditions that occur during breastfeeding, such as:
-Mastitis
-Sore/cracked ni***es
-Blebs
-Abscess
-Dermatitis
-Vasospasm
-Excema
-Rashes
-Stretch marks
and many more
These photos would be truly welcomed, as often the above conditions are not noticed in brown or Black skin from healthcare professionals, as such conditions can manifest and deteriorate as signs and symptoms have been missed or misdiagnosed.
Healthcare professional are more likely to learn about ailments that occur in white or fairer skin during their training therefore these images will be an invaluable resource for teaching and educational purposes to improve the health and wellbeing for Black and brown women and parents, and have positive impact on their breastfeeding experience.
