As some of you know, my beautiful beloved Dad left this world last week.
Losing a parent is so hard, as many of you sadly know. As much as we are all going to miss him, Iâm so happy for him that he is at peace and is with God now.
We say
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiâun
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we will return
And it was his time to return, after a blessed life, as with everyone, full of ups and downs, but Dad made the best of everything, worked hard, played hard and loved his life.
After a fall 18 months ago, his health started to deteriorate rapidly, towards the end he was unable to walk without a lot of assistance, his memory was a little confused sometimes, and it was increasingly difficult to communicate with him.
He was in his 40s when he first had a heart attack, and to my Mumâs credit, she whipped his diet into shape, encouraged him to exercise, and I believe he lived until 84 because she managed his health so well.
As I got older, and my weight yo-yoâd, now and again heâd scold me to look after myself! Out of love, always, but I have phases of being good and bouts of being completely unhealthy.
So when I told him next week Iâm going to Delhi for a full body MOT (this is with The Medical Travel Company that you may have seen at Hey Gorgeous) and some treatments, he was thrilled.
Upon his passing I was in two minds about going. But my family said I should carry on, particularly as now more than ever, health is a priority.
And the thing is, I can see from the outside Iâm not in an optimal place, but the scans and tests provided show you whatâs happening on the inside.
For me, I also feel I need the down time. The meditation and treatments like the Sound Bath will be so welcome.
So with my familyâs blessing thankfully, Iâll be in India next week, starting a journey to health that I wish to dedicate to my wonderful Dad, who has wanted this for me for so long and I never fully committed to give to him before.
Love you Dad. Iâm so grateful to God I was your daughter đđź
