Just an update on what is happening here at furbabies.
As from the start of 2026 we made the decision to reduce our number of boarding hutches from 17 to 11. We did this to make things more manageable in our home life and to give the boarders more individual time and also to cater directly for our regular customers. Business was becoming even busier than it has been since we started and I was spending lots of the time answering new enquiries and half the day on the computer sorting this and trying to juggle this with three feeding times, cleaning and exercise was just to much and I felt less like a retired person with a hobby and a passion for caring for pets and more like a person trying to juggle to much on a daily basis so hence why the decision was made.
From April the website will not be available as I have sent copies of our business card out to most of the regulars I could think of with the only numbers to contact us on.
Hopefully making these adjustments will allow us to carry on with our fur baby indulgence.

Summer is well and truly over I do believe as I come in from cleaning the boarders all tucked up in the cosy cabin with the wind whistling around us and a gazebo blown to shreds.
Just another update to add to our previous information sheet. Owing to a spate of very late cancellations throughout the last few months in what is a hectic period there will be a 50% charge for this going forward from January. We understand things happen and some cancellations are unavoidable but we have no way of knowing who or what is genuine and leaves us with hutches which could have been filled numerous times over. We take all bookings in good faith and donot take deposits but going forward from January any cancellations less than three weeks prior to boarding will be50% chargeable at our discretion

As we come to the end of what has been an extremely busy summer period we start to look forward as a business as to what we must do to maintain the standards and the success the business has become.
To do this we are having to make some alterations to the way we work and the pressure we put on ourselves as a family to accommodate everybody’s needs and forgetting our own need for respite. Below are listed next years prices and a new schedule we will be working to.
We appreciate this might not fit in with everyone but to keep the holiday boarding open for your precious furbabies it is necessary.
Also listed are the dates the boarding will be unavailable for booking.
Thank you for your continued support and hopefully we can move forward into next year without to much disruption.

Another extraordinary busy summer full to bursting 26 guinea wiggles and 4 bunnies plus my own four bunnies to pamper to at silly o’clock in the morning . I tend to start even earlier mornings with the extreme heat as it is as once it gets really hot these poor little creatures donot want the stress of me cleaning them out, so other than to put cold plates in and check they are okay I try and leave them to find a cool place in their hutches and chill.
Going forward next year a few things to start thinking about.
We will be booking some weeks off to have a few breaks as those of you who know our circumstances will understand that we need a bit of respite from what has been a very stressful year and will continue to be ongoing although things are good at this time. I will be posting the weeks we are taking off soon. Early booking for summer will be necessary as will other school holidays. Although we do have room for a couple of the indoor guinea pig cages in the cabin in an emergency I would rather not have to use these as we don’t feel they are adequate space for piggies to run around in.
Collection and drop off times will strictly be at the set times and I apologise for this but with other appointments and our lives to lead we have to have some control over this but the main thing is the amount of times the boarders are disturbed as soon as anyone enters the cabin an immediate rush of panicky boarders dash off from eating or relaxing so I have to minimise this to a couple of set times a day.
All bookings are taken in good faith and no deposit is required but all payments must be made on day of drop off not on collection and any late cancellations(less than 3 weeks prior to boarding date) will incur a 50% charge.
The boarders are our top priority whilst they are with us, and as said in previous posts we will be reducing hutches throughout the year but will endeavour to keep full capacity at peak times if hopefully family members are on board to help.
Hopefully I have covered most things and thank you for your continued support especially our customers who have been with us from day one

Here at furbabies small pet boarding we are looking like another busy year ahead.
Apologies on our behalf that our website has not been updated since we moved properties, but personal issues and property and garden renovations took over last year, but we will get it done as soon as possible.
In the meantime below are listed a few updates and changes we have had to make.
We have had to limit our indoor boarding to two bird cages at any one time and we are no longer able to accommodate rats, chinchillas, hamsters etc as the property is smaller and we do not have the space.
Also we have set ourselves a manageable capacity in our cabin for rabbits and guinea pigs, so early booking is advisable especially peak holiday times.
All boarding fees are payable on drop off of your pets.
Our drop off times are now 7 days a week 8-30-9-30am and Monday to Friday 3-30-4-00pm, there are no drop offs and collections afternoons at weekend and bank holidays.
All bunnies must be vaccinated and proof shown.
Also if your pet is showing any signs of being unwell please get them to the vets before boarding. Whilst we are happy to administer small amounts of medication we cannot take pets if they have serious conditions.
Enclosed are more pictures of new cabin and current 2025 price list.
We do not take provisional bookings or take deposits but any cancellations less than 3 weeks prior to boarding especially peak periods are 50% chargeable.

Well Christmas has arrived at furbabies and we have a full house of four legged and two legged varieties. The boarders are all up and cleaned and fed this morning and now chilling.
We are getting ready indoors for what will be our last Christmas at this property, we are hopefully on the move mid February. Furbabies will continue at the new property with a lush new cabin which will hopefully house all hutches. In-house space for birds, rats etc is going to be very limited as we have downsized house wise but with bigger outdoor space. So booking wise for birds etc will be on a first come first served basis as spaces will be few.
Anyhow thankyou to all our customers especially our regulars who we love seeing year on year and welcome to our new ones , we wish you a happy holiday and a fantastic 2024 and hopefully see many of you at the new property

Food all prepped and ready for the inmates 14 bunnies 33 guinea pigs 2 parrots and 2 hamsters at last count. Loved to see them all run to the front of the hutch when they know I’m doing the veggie run. Tiring but so worthwhile making these little furbabies feel at home whilst their owners are away x

What an extremely busy summer ahead, apologies to the many many customers old and new we have had to turn away this year but we are full to capacity for the month of august. This again proves the need to book your beloved pets in very early in the year to guarantee a space. In house spaces are extremely limited as bird and rat cages take up a lot of room. Again next year we will not be boarding rabbits and guineas in house through the summer as it can be too hot and they need some fresh air so the cabins and outdoor hutches are ideal. We have looked after our first trio of sugar gliders this year and what little characters they are and very cute. Happy summer holidays and that’s me signed off until September when I get some spare time.
