Saturday shift.

Not the simplest of dig outs with a 6 inch Anglian water service running through the trench but after a few years on a 1.5t machine you tend to get a feel for these before making a hole.

Soak away in place.

Over site graded out to level ready for prep once up to dpc.

Garden level taken down and graded.

The difference a week can make

Upstairs
3rd bedroom and w/c
external wall openings altered and lintels installed.
Sand and cement render with mesh to build strength into the wall.
External walls stud work and 50mm Celotex insulation detail.
1st fix plumbing and electrics

Main bedroom
Ceiling over boarded.
1st fix plumbing and electrics.
External wall stud works and insulation detail.

Kitchen/ bathroom
1st fix plumbing in place
Floor hardcore, dpm and Celotex in place ready for underfloor heating.
New lean to roof cut on replacing the rotten roof and flipping the fall of roof.
Window and door way altered ready for new layout and internal render finish to build strength into the wall.

Lounge/dining room
1st fix plumbing and electrical

Structural works
Chimney removed from above roof and through property to enlarge bedroom/kitchen.

Main roof front elevation, new hand cut roof and snapped purlin repair.

New Norwich MOT bay nearing completion.

It’s not been the simplest of tasks

Breaking out the steel reinforced existing slab.

Reducing floor height 100mm

Ramp floor 165mm lower than new lower floor level.

Brake roller opening 305mm lower.

With many different height and only a +/- of only 5mm it was definitely a laser level job.

5m3 of Gen 2 reinforced concrete to fill and make good the build,

Next stage form the new sloped entrance then get ready for high build epoxy floor paint, with different colours for the different levels it’s going to look great

Referb and alteration project.

The difference 3 days can make.

Properly soft stripped.
All services disconnected leaving only builders supply.

Upstairs bathroom/box room stripped back to brick work.

New larger floor joist installed beside existing to level floor and built in to the exterior wall as part of works to correct a 30mm bow in the wall. Then we will be carrying out helifix repairs and a reinforced render detail pre plaster.

Kitchen and w/c
Stripped back to brickwork, existing damp and rotten floor removed, floor level taken down ready for hardcore and concrete before an insulation and liquid screed detail.

Dining room, lounge and kitchen ceiling removed to carry out rewire and full replumb before 100mm insulation between joists.

Load bearing wall between kitchen and w/c removed with new beam in place ready to form an enlarged bathroom to rear.

Load bearing wall between dining room and kitchen removed with hd lintel in place to form kitchen dining area.

Blocked up fireplaces opened up.

Lean to roof to rear and leaning brick work gable has been stripped ready for a new roof with increased timber size to allow us an increased insulation detail with vaulted ceiling finish inside.

Now to leave the properly rest for a couple days before removing all acro props and starting on stage 2 of window/door alterations along with new stud works.

So far 20T of rubbish has come from this 3 bed property, but not all rubbish with finding some 1912 new paper between the door frames

Phase 1 of new Mot station works.

The new area for the ramp formed with a 165mm drop from what will be the new finished floor level.

A total of 27T of material have been removed so far.

Area of bay dug down.

Prepared with 100mm compacted type1 and levelled with laser level.

Twin 1200 gauge dpm layer.

A193 mesh laid on semi engineering bricks

Concreted with 200mm of RC35 self compacting concrete, laser levelled checked before applying a dapple bar ensuring a finish to a 3mm tolerance across the slab and a lovely smooth finish ready for its epoxy coating at end of project.

Next on to the block-work to form the bay and digging out for brake rollers.

When the garage which looks after the business fleet and keeps up on the road asks for help in getting there new mot centre up and running to expand there business we were only happy to help.

Existing reinforced concrete floor removed where required and level lowered ready for new ramp.

Not the easiest of jobs working inside a structure but it’s now ready for phase 2 of digging the pit.

Landscaping works.

After completing the extension for the homeowner we were asked to cover the landscaping which happens more often than not.

It’s always great to be able to carry out the landscaping works after the build as brings it all to a close.

Rear elevation
Area dug out
Framed with treated sleepers
100mm crushed brick base

Finished with porcelain paving and brushed in pointing ready for homeowner to take over on the grassed area.

Side elevation
14T soil and concrete removed.
Area prepped with w**d guard and crushed brick.
4x4 treated posts in ready for gate and Bin store.
Finished with 20mm rounded shingle and stepping stone porcelain paving as per homeowners design.

260kg Walk on glass replacement no problem with the help of Compact Crane Services.

Back to an extension on Cambridge street we built back in 2020.

When the walk on glass started to show signs of condensation in a corner having a supplier you can rely on is key, A replacement ordered under warranty and help with installing.

Sticking by the materials and workmanship on previous projects despite being a few years down the line is a must.
