Stratford Waterfront, located in East Bank London, is the largest cultural investment in London since the “Festival of Britain” and the “South Banks”.

Situated on a slender site along the river Lea, nestled between Carpenters Road and the WaterWorks River, the new buildings occupy a prominent position on the Olympic Parks easter edge which is approachable and connected through a sequence of clearly legible publics spaces and boasts a newley installed pedestrian bridge.
Each building on the site is unique and once completed will be home to the likes of:

Sadlers Wells
The BBC
V & A Museum
London College of Fashion
The Podium, Public Realm and Retail

A fine example of a near miss spotted during a site visit.

Near misses all too often find themselves on the backburner of our thoughts with many unable to properly identify how to spot a near miss and yet all too often after an accident occurs and someone has been ingured, you begin to hear "That almost happened to me", "I saw that and thought it didn't look right". Had any of those people that speak up after an incidnet spoken up beforehand, it's entirely possible and accident could have been avoided.

Remember, the HSE defines a near miss as "an event not causing harm, but has the potential to cause injury or ill health"

In the wake of storm Dennis, it is important to remember that all scaffolding should not only be inspected at an interval of no more than every 7 days following installation/first use but also following any circumstances liable to jeopardise the safety of the installation e.g. high winds or alterations.

Inspections should always be carried out by a competent person whose combination of knowledge, training and experience is appropriate for the type and complexity of the scaffold.
