WHAT’S THE POINT OF FOLLOWING EACH OTHER IF WE NEVER ACTUALLY CONNECT? 🤷‍♀️

So, I’ve set myself a slightly bonkers task…

Why?

Part of what I do is partner with venues to create a reason for people to get out, get together, have a laugh and spend money locally rather than sitting at home thinking, “we’ll go out at the weekend.”

Through Hashtag Hosts, I host here every Wednesday and we also cover venues across Cheshire and the Midlands when they need us — helping turn those traditionally quieter evenings into something people look forward to 🙌

🎶 You’ve got to know when to hold ’em… and know when to fold ’em.

Business really is a bit like The Gambler.

You need to know when to stick with an idea and give it the time it deserves… but also when to change direction, walk away or admit something simply isn’t working.

I’ve done both.

I’ve held on, pushed through and proved people wrong. I’ve also folded, learned some very expensive lessons and started again—with more knowledge, stronger boundaries and an even clearer sense of where I’m going.

Not every hand will be a winner, but every hand teaches you something.

The real gamble? Staying exactly where you are because you’re too frightened to make your next move ♠️

Such a lovely afternoon meeting other BMW owners, talking cars and, of course, having a proper nosey around some gorgeous BMWs — old and new! 😍

We’re very much a two-BMW household, so it doesn’t take much convincing to get us along to something like this 😂

Great venue, great people and a brilliant way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

✨ NEW BROWS… WHO DIS?!

I’ve finally had my eyebrows microbladed by the fabulous Alison in Crewe and I LOVE them 😍

Now before anyone (Wes 🙄) starts with the “vanity” comments… I would like to remind you that I was an 90s eyebrower😂

We were told thin was IN, the tweezers came out… and apparently my eyebrows took that as a permanent instruction to NEVER COME BACK 👀

I genuinely have about 2cm where eyebrow hair simply no longer exists, so keeping on top of my brows isn't just me being fancy — I'm basically replacing what 1990s Helen ruthlessly removed 🤭

And Alisonhas done an absolutely fabulous job 🎊

She’s based right here in Crewe and does SO much more than brows too — from tattoo laser removal and Botox to facials, nails and loads more beauty and aesthetics treatments.

Why do we so often talk about how much someone inspired us after they're gone? ❤️

Seeing the outpouring of love for Dolly Parton got me thinking about the people who have influenced our lives and journeys — often without ever knowing it.

Dolly has certainly been one of mine 🤠🎶 Country music is permanently playing in my car, but I also hugely admired her passion for making reading accessible to children and how she stood ground as a woman in business 📚

I've always adored reading — give me a proper book over a Kindle any day! When I ran my holiday clubs, I made sure we had a book swap; encouraging children to pick up, swap and discover books too.

But when I thought about who has really influenced the path I've taken, one name kept coming back to me…

Andrew Lloyd Webber 🎭

Musicals and theatre were a huge part of my childhood. Joining a theatre company built my confidence and taught me how to read a room, bounce off people and bring energy — skills I still use constantly today. Andrew created pure magic through theatre.

I loved performing, but I discovered that where I really thrived was behind the scenes.

That led me to study an HND in Technical Theatre — stage management, costume, lighting and sound — and I originally planned a career in wardrobe for musicals.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's music was part of learning keyboard when I was younger and now I'm picking up the piano again, musicals will absolutely be part of that journey 🎹

And one bucket-list item STILL remains…

To finally see Phantom of the Opera live, from the best seat in the house 🎭
I've somehow never seen it — mainly because I've never found anyone who wants to go with me! 😂

So rather than waiting until someone is gone to talk about their impact…
