In the age of technology, creating content has become quicker and easier than ever before, especially with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) content-generating tools.
Unfortunately, AI content generators may be prone to copyright violation on occasion, and we can see that legal battles over these issues have already begun. Getty images are currently suing Stability AI for allegedly using their images illegally, sending them a formal notification of impending litigation in the UK.
However, it isn't just image creation at risk of violating copyright, as copyright violations can also occur when writing is produced through these tools without proper citation or authorisation.
While it's difficult to predict the specific developments that will occur in the future surrounding these issues, it's important for companies and individuals working with AI to stay informed about the latest legal developments and to take steps to ensure that their use of AI does not infringe on existing copyrights.
Have you ever used AI tools in your work? βοΈ
