🌴 THE SITE SURVEY DIDN’T MENTION THE JAGUAR.

A slightly different working environment for the AAA team this week, with a quick trip to the Amazon Rainforest.

Progress has been good, although site conditions have raised a few unexpected issues:
• Cable routes become rivers every 10 minutes
• The mosquitoes have taken over the site office
• Nobody can confirm whether parrots need visitor passes
• The jaguar refuses to use the access control system
• An anaconda has somehow been labelled “Cat 6”

We’re aiming to get everything commissioned before the rain starts again.

Current estimate: about 15 minutes. 🌧️

🎥 A GOOD AV INSTALLATION STARTS LONG BEFORE ANYONE PRESSES PLAY.

A look at progress from one of our current auditorium projects, where our team is working on the AV infrastructure behind the finished space.

From the projection equipment and control hardware to the systems supporting presentations, audio and room operation, this stage is all about getting the installation positioned, connected and ready for commissioning.

It’s the kind of work most people won’t notice once the room is finished, but it’s what makes the final experience feel simple.

🎉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAKE!

Today we’re celebrating Jake, our Office Assistant - although that job title covers quite a lot.

From social media and website content to supporting the office, organising day-to-day tasks and occasionally being pulled into whatever needs sorting that day, Jake gets involved across plenty of areas of AAA.

Hopefully there’s slightly less admin, fewer emails and absolutely no spreadsheets waiting for him today. 😂

🎬 THE BIG SCREEN ISN’T WHAT MAKES A GREAT HOME CINEMA.

The real difference comes from everything around it.

Speaker positioning affects how sound reaches each seat. Lighting influences the viewing environment. Acoustics change how the room sounds. And the control system determines whether everything feels seamless or unnecessarily complicated.

That’s why a home cinema should be designed as one complete system, with the audio, visuals, lighting, acoustics, seating and control considered together from the start.

Get that right, and the technology stops feeling like a collection of equipment and starts feeling like a cinema.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO TURN A TENDER INTO A PROJECT?

For Josh, our New Build Construction Bid Manager, it starts long before anyone arrives on site.

He’s the one getting into the drawings, specifications and project requirements, working out exactly what’s being asked for and helping shape AAA’s solution from the tender stage onwards.

It means balancing technical requirements, commercial considerations and client expectations - often across several disciplines within the same development.

According to his action figure, the toolkit for doing all of that is fairly simple: drawings, phone, calculator… and a strategically placed burger. 😂

📡 THREE ORBITAL POSITIONS. ONE CLEANER ROOFTOP INSTALLATION.

This recent satellite upgrade replaced the existing rooftop setup with three new Triax dishes, aligned to receive signals from:
• 19°E
• 28.2°E
• 13°E

The biggest difference isn’t just how much tidier the finished installation looks.

Using dedicated non-penetrating roof stands keeps the system secure without compromising the roof structure, while accurate alignment across all three positions helps maintain reliable signal performance.

A good satellite upgrade should improve both the engineering and the finish. This one does both.

🏗️ SITE CONDITIONS WERE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT THIS WEEK…

The AAA team arrived on site to find the development built almost entirely from blocks, the plant room buried underground and sections of the perimeter mysteriously disappearing overnight.

Not ideal.

Fortunately, access control was straightforward. Getting anything more than “hmm” from the villagers during the site meeting was the bigger challenge.

A few creeper-related variations later and the installation was complete. ✅

Another project delivered on time. Just don’t ask to see the as-installed drawings.
