New guidance for FRA in Holiday Caravans published. It is not published by the Home Office under A50 being industry sponsored (Resort Leisure Safety Group) (like how a lot of HSE guidance has moved from away from the HSE to sector groups to author & publish) but is with their support and is implied to be treated as having the same status in it's adoption.

For the extinguisher side of things they are still expected but don't have to be powder (opens door for mist & multipurpose waters, etc)

Holiday caravan accommodation presents unique fire safety challenges, particularly where sleeping guests may be unfamiliar with their surroundings. It’s competition time !!

Every week we meet people who say, “I’ve always wanted to do proper fire marshal training… just never got round to it.”
So today, we’re removing the barrier.

We’re giving away two fully funded Fire Marshal Training places to someone who wants to learn, grow, and help keep their workplace or community safe.

Whether you’re a parent, a volunteer, a team leader, or just someone who likes stepping up — tell us why it should be you. Your story might inspire someone else too.

🔥 Fire Extinguisher Safety Warning

This is NOT our work — and it’s dangerous.
If your extinguishers look like this, you need to check your current provider immediately.

We’re seeing more and more “rag and tag” cowboy servicing, where extinguishers are left with multiple tags, clips, or seals on the safety pin. It might look tidy… but it’s not compliant with BS standards and it’s not safe.

🧯 A fire extinguisher pin should have ONE tag.
Just one.
Because in an emergency, that pin needs to pull out instantly.

If it’s double‑tagged or over‑clipped, it becomes almost impossible to release quickly and that delay can cost lives.

This kind of workmanship is not acceptable, not professional, and not compliant.

If you’re unsure about your extinguishers, or you’ve had recent servicing that doesn’t look right, get them checked. Don’t wait until you’re standing in smoke trying to pull a pin that won’t budge.

A&S Fire Protection — keeping Devon , Cornwall & Somerset safe with proper BS‑standard servicing.

BREAKING NEWS
We’re launching a dating app exclusively for fire extinguishers.
Why?
Because half the ones we inspect are clearly single, neglected, and haven’t been touched in years.

If yours is looking lonely… give us a shout. We’ll show it some professional attention.”
