What a truly magical evening at the South West Care Awards! 🏆💫

To be surrounded by so many incredible individuals who share the same passion, dedication and genuine heart for making a difference in the lives of others was something really special.

Care is so much more than a profession. It’s about compassion, commitment, kindness and those everyday moments that make an extraordinary difference. ❤️

To have Visiting Angels South Devon & Cornwall recognised as finalists and to share such a wonderful evening alongside our amazing Caregivers and leadership team was an absolute privilege.

A huge congratulations to all the winners and fellow finalists! 👏 Every recognition is a celebration of the incredible people who continue to raise standards, champion quality care and remind us why we do what we do.

We came away feeling incredibly proud, inspired and grateful to be part of such an amazing sector.

Tomorrow evening, our Visiting Angels South Devon & Cornwall family will be attending the South West Care Awards 2026, having been named finalists in multiple categories! 💙💛

This recognition means so much more than a nomination. It reflects the passion, dedication and compassion that have gone into building a service where doing the right thing, for the right reasons, is at the heart of everything we do. ❤️

From day one, our vision has been to do things differently: putting people first, empowering our Caregivers and creating a culture where everyone feels valued, supported and proud of the difference they make.

We’re especially excited to share the evening with some of our wonderful Caregivers and leadership team, the people who bring our values to life every day. This recognition belongs to all of us, and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate together! 🥂

💚 World Mental Health Day – Let’s Break the Stigma! 💚

We live in a world where not everyone feels comfortable speaking up. Where struggles are hidden behind smiles, and asking for help can still feel like a weakness.

That needs to change. 💚

At Visiting Angels South Devon & Cornwall, mental health and wellbeing aren’t just something we recognise today. They’re part of our culture and how we support our colleagues, caregivers, clients and their families.

We’re incredibly proud that our entire leadership team are trained Mental Health First Aiders, helping us create an environment where people feel safe, supported and empowered to speak up.

Because being a care-centric organisation means caring for those who deliver the care just as much as those receiving it. 💙

As leaders, colleagues and human beings, we all have a responsibility to break the stigma.

Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply ask, “Are you okay?” and genuinely take the time to listen.

💚 Let’s make mental health a conversation we have every day, not just today.

☕💙 A little Saturday morning reflection…

What a week! One of those that has absolutely whizzed past with barely a moment to breathe.

Sitting with my coffee this morning, I looked back at this photo from during the week and it made me smile.

Our Care Manager knows me well enough to know that asking “Have you had breakfast?” probably isn’t going to cut it… so she makes it and puts it in front of me! 😂

And it doesn’t stop there.

Throughout the day, someone from the team will be asking “Have you had a drink?” before replacing the coffee that’s been sitting on my desk untouched and stone cold for the last two hours. ☕😂

Our caregivers pop in with treats. People check in on each other. Someone always notices when somebody else needs a bit of looking after.

And I think that says a lot about our team. 💙

We spend our days caring for other people, but that care has to start with how we treat each other.

It’s the little things. A bit of breakfast. A fresh coffee. A treat left on a desk. Simply asking “Are you OK?”

None of it is in a job description.

It’s just who our people are.

And when that kindness and care exists naturally within a team, it flows into the care we give to our clients and their families every single day.

So this morning, I’m just feeling incredibly proud of the people who make up Visiting Angels South Devon & Cornwall. 🪽

This photo might only be of my breakfast…

But to me, it says an awful lot about our culture. 💙

Stacey, you have embraced your supervisor role with ambition, enthusiasm and a real willingness to learn. You are taking on new responsibilities, building your confidence and putting so much energy into your development. It is lovely to see how much the role means to you and how determined you are to grow within it.

Your commitment also shines through in the way you step up to help with cover, including on your days off and even during your annual leave. We know how precious that personal time is, and your willingness to lend a hand has been hugely appreciated. Your positive attitude, teamwork and dedication to our clients and colleagues make you a valued part of our team. You should be proud of the progress you are making! 👏

Tony, your dedication to your clients and the relationships you build with them deserve special recognition. You take the time to understand what matters to each person, helping them feel valued and cared for. Your kindness, consistency and commitment make a meaningful difference to their days.
