One of the biggest lies many hardworking parents believe is:
"I'll make up for it later."
Later, when work slows down.
Later, when life becomes easier.
Later, when the children are older.
I used to tell myself the same thing.
There was a season when I worked 5β6 night shifts every week.
I'd come home exhausted, grab a few hours of sleep, wake up, take care of the children, and then prepare for another shift.
I kept telling myself it was temporary.
But children don't pause their childhood while parents are busy.
School events happen.
Questions get asked.
Memories get made.
And those moments don't wait for a better season.
One lesson motherhood has taught me is this:
Providing for a family isn't only about paying bills.
It's also about being present enough to help shape the lives entrusted to us.
That's why today, I value time just as much as effort.
Because childhood is a chapter that can only be lived once.
π€ What is one childhood memory that still stays with us years later?
