📢 IMPORTANT UPDATE & SAFETY NOTICE
As we prepare to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Lancashire Festival, we would like to thank local residents, businesses and users of Avenham & Miller Parks for their continued support and cooperation.
🚧 FESTIVAL BUILD – FRIDAY 24TH JULY
On Friday 24th July, our team will begin installing the surrounding festival perimeter fencing within Avenham & Miller Parks.
We politely ask park users to give our staff and contractors sufficient space to carry out their work safely while the festival site is being prepared.
From 5:00pm on Friday 24th July until 10:00pm on Saturday 25th July, we kindly ask all park users to:
🐕 Keep dogs on leads at all times and clean up after them.
🚴 Keep to the Riversway Path when cycling or running.
🗑️ Use the bins provided or take litter home.
🚧 Respect all festival fencing, equipment and site boundaries.
⚠️ Follow reasonable safety instructions given by festival staff, contractors or security personnel.
🚗 VEHICLE MOVEMENTS – SATURDAY 25TH JULY
There will be a significant increase in authorised festival vehicles moving within and around the parks between:
6:30am and 10:00pm
Festival vehicles will access the parks via:
📍 Ribblesdale Place
📍 West Cliff
Pedestrians always have priority, and all authorised festival vehicles will be required to use hazard lights and observe the event’s site speed limit.
🚑 Emergency access must remain clear at all times via:
• Ribblesdale Place
• West Cliff
• South Meadow Lane
Festival visitors and other park users are asked to park responsibly, avoid parking on yellow lines and not use local business car parks without permission.
Please do not block gates, access roads or emergency routes.
🎶 LIVE MUSIC & NOISE NOTICE
Live music and amplified entertainment will take place between approximately:
12:00pm and 7:00pm on Saturday 25th July
Residents and park users should expect increased noise levels in the surrounding area during these hours.
Our team will manage and monitor event noise throughout the day to reduce unnecessary disturbance while allowing the advertised entertainment programme to take place.
Should you have a concern or complaint during the event, please speak to Festival Management through the festival security team. This allows the concern to be properly logged, witnessed and responded to by the appropriate person.
Alternatively, concerns may be emailed to:
📧 [email protected]
Please do not confront performers, volunteers, contractors or general event staff. Hostile, threatening or abusive behaviour towards any member of the festival team will not be tolerated.
We ask that all concerns are raised calmly and through the appropriate channels so they can be handled safely and professionally.
🛡️ LICENSING, SECURITY & SAFEGUARDING
The festival operates with the required permissions and licensing arrangements through Preston City Council.
Our event planning includes risk assessments, security arrangements, emergency procedures, safeguarding measures and plans for managing incidents throughout the event.
Our safety and security planning also takes account of the principles and published guidance associated with the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law, alongside relevant safeguarding, licensing and health and safety requirements.
Our licensed security team (Elevate Protection Services), Festival Management and event personnel will work together throughout the day to help protect festival visitors, performers, traders, staff and the wider community.
Please report any immediate safety, security or safeguarding concerns to a member of security or Festival Management.
🌿 OUR COMMITMENT TO THE PARKS
Our team will carry out litter picks throughout the festival, followed by a full site clean after the event has finished.
We are committed to leaving Avenham & Miller Parks clean, tidy and restored to their natural beauty before we leave.
We ask everyone attending or using the parks to support us by disposing of their litter responsibly and respecting the surrounding environment.
Leave no trace. Take nothing but memories. 💚
