A number of community/voluntary organisations came together to show collective support in applying for a Rural Development Programme Village Renewal Grant and progress the Rasharkin Village Plan. As meetings progressed it was agreed that this Collaborative Working was important for the area and that the groups involved should look at establishing a Community Partnership:
The overarching aims of t
he Partnership are to:
A) Develop a Partnership of Community/ Voluntary Groups and individuals in the Rasharkin Village and wider area;
B) Have a collective strength which will improve opportunities for these groups to access services, facilities and support at local level;
C) Promote community participation and opportunities for networking;
D) Increase sustainability of community service provision and improved financial viability of community premises;
E) Involve all ages, classes and creeds;
F) Provide a co-ordinated approach to community activity;
G) Work together in collaboration to realise the projects identified in the “Village Plan”;
H) Commit to the principles/values of equality, good management, clarity, trust, honesty, transparency and meaningful engagement between groups improving communication in the process;
Membership
Membership is open to all individuals and groups who live, work or have an interest in the wider Rasharkin area.
