The Darling Rebel brand was born few years ago out of pure love for dancing. I know.. but bear with me. There was this dance teacher, running a dance school of 30 or so girls, each and every one of whom irrevocably in love with this art-form. And you know how times can get really difficult for dance schools? No? Well, they can :) I would know, I am the dance teacher in the story ;) So, naturally, I was exploring additional means to make ends meet, because closure is not an option, crushed dreams and all (I mean, my girls will literally cry), so I thought myself how to make flower headbands and crowns and started selling them to raise funds. I didn’t raise millions of course, but the bills were paid, I bought new camera and many nice choreographies were filmed, painted the walls blue.. Isn’t happiness about the little things anyway? :)
Why Darling Rebel? Well, I don’t think I ever fit in, which in retrospect did not make things easy for me. Many personal battles had to be won before I started to own my differences and hold my head high. But, standing for individuality often doesn’t sit well with the conformists (see what I did there). So, in regard to this, there was a lot of rebelling involved. Still is.. and I guess along the way, I developed a sympathy for all you darling rebels, fighting your own fights every day. But also, I made it my mission to teach my girls to embrace their peculiarities for there lies the power.
Now, back to present day, or as I like to call it - Corona time. It made me jobless, people. The doors to the dance studio are closed for the first time in 15 years. Therefore, I am reinstating the Darling Rebel brand, promoting it from my “to go aid” to hopefully something more “permanent” since I’ve been playing around with design a lot lately and I can easily see doing this for the long run. Don’t get me wrong, I will never give up my dance studio, but I can do both. Hell, we dance people multitask by default already. So, don’t be shy, check my designs and if you dare to be different, well make this girl happy and buy some.
Toodle-oo!
