After a year of building, dreaming, shaping, and grounding this work in humanised communication, mutual advocacy, and child‑centred practice… our website is finally here!!!

SENsAble was created to offer support that honours children’s individuality, centres family expertise, and brings compassion back into the heart of education.

This launch is such a huge a milestone: not just for the business, but for every child, parent, and practitioner who deserves dignity‑first support.

We are so proud of what’s been created, and so excited for what’s ahead.

Meet the people behind SENsAble Consulting and our work in education and inclusion.

Karina Walker
Karina founded SENsAble Consulting after years of experience in education, SEND, inclusion, and advocacy. Their work blends professional practice, academic research, and lived experience, giving them a deep understanding of the challenges families and practitioners face.
They have worked in mainstream and specialist settings, including Forest School and outdoor learning, supporting children with additional needs and developing inclusive approaches.
SENsAble was created from a belief that education should be accessible, meaningful, and better for all.

Hana Alabsi
Hana is an Early Years education specialist with over 10 years of experience, including time as principal of a Waldorf school in Jordan. She holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Reading and brings a strong focus on early childhood development.
Their approach is inspired by Waldorf education, with a belief in nature-based, play-led learning that honours each child’s individuality and supports them to grow with curiosity, confidence, and care.

Sara Ghanma
Sara is a creative educator, combining play-based learning approaches with theatre games to create inclusive and adaptable learning experiences after years of working in teacher training and participatory education practices.
She completed an MSc in Psychology and continues to use her skills, knowledge, and voice to advocate for the role that the arts can have in improving mental and emotional well-being, especially in children and young adults.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our growing, values‑led consultancy built on relational, trauma‑aware, neuroaffirming practice. We’re developing a connected network of practitioners who share knowledge, support one another, and help shape new projects, training, and services as the organisation expands.

We currently have need for an EOTAS Support Practitioner

Hours Available:
• Mondays: 9:00–13:15
• Tuesdays: 9:00–13:15
• Thursdays: 9:00–13:15
Starting mid‑August 2026

Pay is currently set at ÂŁ19 per hour with the intention of increasing pay as the company grows.

About the Role:
This role involves providing 1:1, relationship‑centred support for a child receiving EOTAS provision at their home in Caversham, Reading.

This is not a behaviour‑management role. It is a connection‑first, curiosity‑led, regulation‑aware role.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Knowledge of PDA, ADHD, autism, or trauma‑informed practice
• Experience supporting children with SEND, neurodivergence, or anxiety
• Ability to co‑regulate and understanding of sensory needs and regulation
• Experience in alternative, flexible, or child‑led learning environments
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently while staying connected to the SENsAble team

Desirable (but not required):
• Experience with EOTAS or home education
• Creative skills (art, movement, outdoor learning, crafts, STEM, etc.)
• Ability to plan engaging, interest‑based learning sessions aligned with the child’s interests (art, baking, video games).

These are some tools you can use to help support your child at home and at school. They’re simple strategies that can be adapted to your child’s individual needs and can make everyday routines feel more manageable, predictable and supportive.

1. Communication Diary:

A simple document or booklet that travels between home and school so teachers and parents can share a full picture of the child’s day, what went well, what felt difficult and what helped during those moments. Building a positive shared story like this strengthens relationships between home and school, helps teachers really connect with and understand the child and makes everyday conversations about their day easier without it feeling overwhelming.

2. Predictable routines:

Routines are put in place to give the child consistency and a sense of security. Predictability supports emotional safety and helps the child feel more grounded in their day. This can be as simple as using a familiar scent or sound to signal the start of an activity, using visual timetables or keeping certain parts of the routine the same each day. It’s about reducing uncertainty and helping the child’s nervous system feel regulated by identifying pressure points and gently building predictability around them.

3. Sensory toolbox:

A sensory toolbox is a box or bag of items that help support a child to regulate their senses and feel comforted, both at home and at school. It might include fidget toys, a favourite small object, calming scents like lotion or wipes, a notebook or journal, checklists, or other sensory tools. It can also include simple coping strategies, like taking five seconds to pause before answering a question, having a trusted person to talk to if feeling sad, or using a breathing technique when feeling panicked. It becomes both a physical and mental toolbox the child can rely on when they need support.

Hello, and welcome to SENsAble Consulting.

This is the beginning of something I have been wanting to build for a long time, and I'm excited for you to join me on this journey.

SENsAble is a brand-new inclusive education consultancy partnering with families, practitioners, and settings to enhance and reform education for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our missions is to champion inclusive, accessible, and equitable education for every child by delivering sustainable, strategic support to schools and holistic advocacy for families. We work to bridge the gaps between policy, practice, and lived experiences; and to centre the voices of those who are so often marginalised by bureaucracy or excluded from educational research.

Too many families feel unheard.
Too many practitioners feel overwhelmed.
Too many children are facing barriers within the systems that should be supporting them.

We're building a multidisciplinary network grounded in mutual advocacy, proactive inclusion, and the belief that meaningful reform can only happen when we listen to the expertise of families.

Because SENsAble is new, we want to start by listening.
