Last August, Lucy joined Apsida as part of our Academy.

The Academy was designed to give future consultants the training, support and insight they needed to start their careers in recruitment.

One year on, we asked Lucy how it helped prepare her for life at Apsida:

“When I look back, it’s quite funny to think about how little I knew when I started.
I went from learning the basics of recruitment, picking up the phone for the first time, speaking to people and sending CVs, to now, just over a year into my career, being recognised as a specialist in my market.

The Academy gave me a really strong foundation, but more than that, it taught me how to be comfortable being uncomfortable, to keep going when things don’t go your way and learn quickly from it.

I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunity and for every person at Apsida who helped me along the way, and I think the biggest achievement is how far I’ve come. From knowing absolutely nothing about the industry to now feeling like I’ve properly found my place in it.”

We’re proud of Lucy’s progress at Apsida and she’s a great example of what good training and development can lead to in recruitment.

At Apsida, we believe outsourced training builds successful recruiters.

That’s why we brought in Jamie Burrows to deliver six weeks of training for our Associate Consultants.

The sessions give the team the opportunity to develop and practice their skills, ask questions, share experiences, and build an understanding of the Life Science recruitment industry.

It’s an important part of helping our Associate Consultants build the foundations they need to progress in their careers at Apsida, and we look forward to continuing to invest in training and development through sessions like these.

Welcome Abel Vendrells to the Apsida Life Science team!

Abel joins our Regulatory team as an Associate Consultant, partnering with organisations across the global life sciences market to support the growth of Regulatory Affairs and CMC functions.

Working with biotech and biopharmaceutical organisations, he will focus on permanent recruitment across Regulatory Affairs, CMC and Quality, helping clients identify and secure the specialist talent needed to support their growth objectives.

A few weeks ago, we announced Hvar, Croatia as the destination for this year’s Presidents’ Club.

Apsida’s Presidents’ Club is our biggest event, celebrating our highest-performing consultants, and this was our best one yet.

The week was spent riding quad bikes through the olive groves, heading from island to island by speedboat, a day at , and a few too many beers.

A week in Boston!

Last week, some of the HQ team headed over to spend some time with the Boston team.

For a couple of them, it was their first time in Boston and for one, their first time in the US altogether.

There was lots of food, a round of golf, the Apsida summer party and plenty of time catching up with the team.

During the trip, Ben, Jon and David sat down for a conversation about the growth of Apsida’s US business, the market they're seeing on the ground and what comes next for the Boston team.

A look back at our Boston Summer Party! 🇺🇸
 
The day started in the office before swapping desks for golf, food and drinks at Granite Links, followed by a sunset at Marina Bay.
 
The first half of 2026 has been a big one for the Boston team. The team has continued to grow, while the office has been building its presence and strengthening its position in the US market.
 
It was great to get everyone together to celebrate what’s been a strong start to the year and spend some time together outside of the office.
