When your engagement shoot has one very important condition… Irma has to be the star.

At 13 years young, this gorgeous spaniel cross has been there through so much of their story, so it only felt right that their engagement photos weren’t just about the two of them — they were about the three of them.

We headed to the beach for sandy paws, windswept ears, a very well-loved tennis ball and plenty of moments that felt completely them. No stiff posing, no fuss. Just love, laughter and one beautiful old girl right at the heart of it all.

And honestly… Irma absolutely understood the assignment. Those flying ears!

This is exactly why I love including dogs in couple sessions. They’re not “just the dog”. They’re family. They’re part of your relationship, your everyday life and your memories — and they deserve to be in the photographs too.

Congratulations to this gorgeous pair… and a massive round of applause for Irma, who had her 13th birthday yesterday.

Young, married & completely in love.

Tonight at Holywell Bay was their first ever photoshoot together — and Cornwall decided to give us just about every kind of weather possible.

We started beneath a flat grey sky, but the light was absolute perfection. Soft, calm and beautiful. Then, almost out of nowhere, the clouds broke slightly and we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset.

And just when we thought the sky couldn’t change again… the sky turned dark and the rain poured.

So we kept shooting.

Wet hair, soaked clothes, running across the sand, laughing through the rain and holding each other a little tighter.

Grey skies. Golden sunset. Pouring rain.

Honestly, I wouldn’t have changed a thing.

Because sometimes the photographs you remember most aren’t made when everything goes to plan — they’re made when you embrace whatever Cornwall throws at you

There’s nothing quite like sending wedding previews and getting messages like THIS back.

Knowing that the photographs I’ve created have made someone stop, feel everything all over again, and maybe shed a little tear is honestly the best part of being a wedding photographer.

Golden light, sandy toes & the kind of memories you wish you could bottle up forever.

This beautiful family session at Holywell Bay was everything I love about photographing families — the girls running barefoot across the sand, cuddles with Mum, windswept hair, belly laughs and those gorgeous little in-between moments that can never be staged.

And Dad too — those big, safe, wrap-around hugs that pull everyone together.

Sometimes it’s the quiet moments, when everyone naturally reaches for each other, that end up becoming my favourite photographs of the entire session.

Because family photography isn’t just about the children. It’s about all of you. Mum, Dad, the chaos, the cuddles, the connection and the way your family feels right now.

And THAT Holywell sunset…Cornwall was definitely showing off for us.

No stiff posing. No forcing smiles. Just run, play, cuddle, get sandy and love on your people while I capture it all.

Tiny dogs, huge personalities.
I had the pleasure of photographing these two adorable Chihuahuas for Christmas 2024, and they couldn't have been more different and today we got to do their beach shoot. Poor little Gabby (white) has been through a real dreadful time but is surpassing her life expectancy given by specialist. So this morning we celebrated with lots of cuddles and running, I really hope I get to capture her again this christmas.

That's one of the things I love most about photographing dogs – every session is completely unique. There's never any pressure for them to perform. We take things at their pace, let them explore, play, sniff, and simply be themselves. That's when the real magic happens.

The result? Beautiful, personality-filled portraits that their owners will treasure for years to come.

Old dogs have a way of reminding us to slow down, appreciate the little things, and treasure every wag, every grey whisker, and every quiet walk.

Every photo becomes a memory. Every memory becomes a story. And one day, those stories will mean everything.
