Another lodge fitted with new windows and doors! 🏡🔨

A long trip down to Boyton for this one, but definitely worth the journey.

This lodge has been fitted with anthracite grey on white windows, a new uPVC single entrance door and two large patio sliding doors, bringing plenty of natural light into the new space.

We’ve left all the protective tape in place to keep the frames protected while the rest of the build continues around them.

Another lodge safely glazed and secured, and it’ll be great to see how this one looks once the rest of the build is complete. 👌

As well as keeping busy with the usual windows and doors, the lodge build near Four Lanes has been progressing nicely. 🏡🔨

The outside is now complete, and inside we’re getting close to the first-fix electrics and plasterboarding stage.

It’s really starting to take shape now, and it’s great seeing all the different stages come together to turn the shell into a proper home.

Still plenty to do, but we’re getting there! 👌

Today we’ve been in St Ives replacing this bedroom window and making a few much-needed improvements. 🔨

The original window was too small to provide a suitable fire escape, didn’t let much natural light into the room and, being installed on its side, was holding water rather than allowing it to drain correctly.

We’ve now doubled the height of the opening, allowing for a much larger fire-escape window and bringing considerably more light into the bedroom. ☀️

The new window has also been installed in the correct orientation, allowing the drainage channels to work as they should — meaning no more water being trapped in the frame and hopefully no more leaks.

A much better result for the property all round: more light, better drainage and, most importantly, a safer means of escape in an emergency. 👌

Today we were in Pendeen fitting three new windows and a door into this property, which is currently undergoing a full renovation. 🔨🏡

With the granite work still to be finished, the builders will be repointing the stonework and adding the external reveals around the new windows and door.

Once all of that is complete, this is going to look fantastic and really bring the character of the granite together with the new windows and doors. 👌

Another one to keep an eye on as the renovation progresses!

Today we finished off this extension in Newlyn. 🔨🏡

This one included two fixed screens, a 3.5m triple-track sliding door, with all three panes able to slide either way, plus a lovely slate grey composite door and a white uPVC door with panel for the basement.

The basement door has been left with the protective tape on the frame ready for the rendering to be completed — so don’t worry, that isn’t part of the finished look! 😂

Another great project completed, and it’s always satisfying seeing an extension really start to come together once the glazing and doors are in.

For the last couple of weeks we’ve been busy at Bugle School, fitting new fascias, soffits and guttering. 🏫🔨

We’ve been working alongside L Manna Carpentry LTD on this one, with around 250 running metres to get through!

With the blistering heat we’ve had, it’s certainly been a tough one, but with just a couple of bits left to finish off, this job is looking really good. 👌

Big effort from everyone involved to get this one moving along — we’re looking forward to getting the final bits finished and seeing it all complete.

Yesterday we were in St Ives fitting this impressive 2.8m high entrance door. 👌

The previous door was around 30 years old and had definitely seen better days. The hinges had worn out, causing the door to drop and stick, and once we removed it we discovered it was probably half full of water – so it was well overdue for replacement!

The new door gives the property a much cleaner, more modern look while improving security, insulation and day-to-day usability. Sometimes keeping things simple has the biggest impact, and I think this one has turned out brilliantly.

Had a great time at the Butter Market in Redruth today! 👌

It was brilliant catching up with the man himself behind The Cornish Fijian. We played rugby together at Redruth, St Ives and in the Royal Navy, so it was fantastic to see him doing so well with his new venture. It’s always great to see good people succeeding. 🙌

I went for the chargrilled lamb, and all I can say is… absolutely incredible! Packed with flavour, cooked perfectly and easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. 🔥🥩

If you’re anywhere near Redruth, do yourself a favour and head to the Butter Market to check out The Cornish Fijian. You won’t be disappointed!

Last week we replaced the windows at the front of this property in Illogan, giving it a fresh new look. 👌

The customer chose white frames for the upper floor and anthracite grey for the lower floor to create a striking contrast against the cladding and the white rendered walls. It’s not something you see every day, but I have to say, I think it’s turned out brilliantly. What do you think? 👇

As part of the project, we also replaced all of the old concrete cills with brand new slate cills. The original cills didn’t project past the cladding, allowing rainwater to run behind it, so the new slate cills will not only look much smarter but also perform as they should.

We also removed the existing bay window and replaced it with a flat window, giving the front of the property a much cleaner, more modern appearance. Once everything has been painted, it’s going to look fantastic.

As well as keeping busy with our domestic window and door installations, we’ve also been making great progress on this lodge build near Four Lanes. 🏡

All of the windows are now installed, making the building fully watertight. We’ve also laid the floor, started insulating the walls, and organised the plumbing, which has now been first fixed.

Next on the list is completing the wall insulation, followed by the roof insulation, first fix electrics, and then it’s on to plasterboarding. It’s always exciting to see a project like this come together stage by stage.
