Today I was at the awards with my amazing client Katy from as she was a finalist for the Solopreneur of the Year 2025 award! And she WON! 🥳🥳 Congratulations to Katy! 👏👏

Also, we have worked together for 2.5 years now and today was the 1st time we met in real life and not just on a video call!

Instagram is about to launch a new text-based app to rival Twitter.

According to website reports:

‘The app will feature a centralised feed, allowing users to view text, images, and videos shared by followers and recommended accounts.

It will be a separate app but built on top of Instagram, and compatible with other decentralised social media platforms like Mastodon.

Each post on the app will be limited to 500 characters.

Creator controls and safety features from Instagram will carry over to the new app, ensuring account safety.

Meta aims to provide a space for creators and public figures to share timely updates about their interests’

Are you constantly asking yourself, "What am I doing wrong?!" when you see others with a massive following?

It's easy to fall into the comparison trap and beat yourself up, but before you throw your phone out the window, stop and consider these things:

🔹You don’t know how long that person has been in business for?
🔹You don’t know if that person is spending out of ads, or how much they are spending?
🔹You don’t know if that person has a virtual assistant / social media manager / copywriter helping them?
🔹You don’t know how successful they really are (lots of followers doesn’t always mean lots of customers!)

You need to just focus on YOU and how YOU’RE doing.

Don’t get caught up worrying about other people. Keep grinding and pushing forward, and soon enough, you'll be celebrating your own milestones! 🙌🏻

I know it can be tempting to buy followers to make your account look better BUT if you do:

1. Your engagement is screwed because none of those people are real so they are never going to like your stuff
2. If people don’t engage on your posts then your content won’t get pushed out to more people (including your REAL followers!)
3. It then looks weird to people that you have a ton of followers and 2 likes on your posts

Honestly it’s not worth it!

Have you booked a summer holiday yet?

We have just booked Center Parcs which I’m quite excited about. I’ve never been to one before, but we thought it would be perfect for us.

We tried Bluestone in Wales last year which was great, but since then my daughter has been having swimming lessons (which she LOVES!) and we thought Center Parcs has more swimming facilities so we’ve gone for it!

Instagram have announced they are not going to push video content so much on the app, and are returning more to photos.

Personally I think this is great news! I love seeing people’s photo’s and graphics.

I also love reels, but having the news feed clogged up with the same trending sounds and audios is boring.

This is why knowing how to make real reels, with your own original content, is even more important!
