Is your perimeter really secure?

Having a fence is a great starting point, but your security shouldn’t stop there ⤵️

The truth is that a fence can act as a deterrent... To a point. However, it won't tell you if someone is climbing over it, cutting through it or approaching your site after hours.

What’s better than just having a fence?

Introducing modern perimeter security. Modern perimeter security is all about detecting threats before they become incidents, and today’s intelligent solutions can help you:

👉 Detect intruders before they reach your building
👉 Monitor your site in complete darkness with thermal cameras
👉 Track movement across large areas using radar technology
👉 Use AI-powered video analytics to identify suspicious activity in real time
👉 Receive instant alerts when virtual boundaries are crossed or restricted areas are entered
👉 Integrate perimeter protection with CCTV, access control and alarm monitoring for a complete security solution.

The good news? We can help you properly secure your premises.

At Reflex Systems, we design perimeter and intrusion detection systems around your site and your specific risks, helping businesses, critical infrastructure, and high-security environments protect their people, assets and operations.

What does a compliant fire safety system actually need to include? 🔥

For public sector organisations, fire safety is about much more than installing an alarm system.

Whether you manage a council building, NHS facility, social housing or another public building, your fire safety strategy needs to protect people, support business continuity and meet your legal responsibilities.

A fully compliant approach should include:

✔️ Fire risk assessments that are regularly reviewed
✔️ British Standard-compliant fire detection and alarm systems
✔️ Emergency lighting, fire doors and safe escape routes
✔️ Accurate testing, inspection and maintenance records
✔️ Support for Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs)
✔️ Effective fire safety management across single or multi-site estates.

When systems are added over time or managed by different teams, it’s easy for gaps in compliance to appear. That’s why having an experienced fire safety partner is so important.

At Reflex Systems, we’ve been helping public sector organisations stay safe and compliant since 1987, with our complete fire safety solutions.

If you’re reviewing your fire safety systems or preparing for your next Fire Risk Assessment, we’re here to help. Let’s have a chat about your fire safety systems now:

Where is video fire detection most effective? 🤔

Traditional fire detection doesn’t suit all premises, especially not large or complex spaces.

Why? Because smoke and heat can take longer to reach conventional detectors, delaying the warning.

That’s where advanced video fire detection can make all the difference. Video fire detection is particularly effective in:

✅ Large open spaces – Warehouses, distribution centres, aircraft hangars and convention centres with high ceilings
✅ Industrial environments – Manufacturing plants, waste and recycling facilities, or areas where dust and steam can affect traditional detectors
✅ Heritage buildings – Museums, galleries and historic properties where installing ceiling-mounted detectors may not be practical
✅ Outdoor and semi-outdoor spaces – Loading bays, tunnels and covered areas where smoke can quickly disperse
✅ Critical infrastructure – Data centres, telecommunications facilities and power plants where early detection is essential to minimise downtime
✅ Hazardous environments – Gas, chemical and explosive atmospheres that require specialist fire detection solutions.

At Reflex Systems, we design and install advanced video-based fire detection systems that are tailored to your environment, helping businesses achieve faster detection and enhanced protection where conventional systems may face challenges.

AI is changing the future of security 🤖

Security has traditionally been about reviewing footage after an incident has happened, but...

With AI, security is becoming proactive instead of reactive. Rather than simply recording events, AI-powered systems can detect, analyse and respond to potential threats in real time, helping organisations make faster, more informed decisions.

One example is AI-powered concealed weapons detection 👇

As an official partner of Xtract One, we can attest to just how powerful this intelligent weapon detection technology is.

Unlike traditional metal detectors, AI-powered systems can:

✅ Detect potential threats in real time
✅ Reduce false alarms caused by everyday items like keys and phones
✅ Allow visitors to walk through naturally without stopping or emptying their belongings
✅ Create a safer, more welcoming experience for everyone.

Whether you’re responsible for a stadium, education setting, healthcare facility, transport hub or another high-traffic environment, AI is helping organisations strengthen security while improving the visitor experience.

At Reflex Systems, we’re proud to deliver intelligent security solutions that help organisations stay one step ahead.

How does video fire detection work? 🔥

When it comes to fire safety, every second counts.

Unlike traditional fire detection systems that rely on smoke or heat reaching a detector, video fire detection uses intelligent analytics to identify the visual signs of smoke and flames as they develop.

Here’s how it works:

👉 Constant monitoring – Cameras continuously monitor the protected area, providing a live stream of video.
👉 Intelligent analysis – Advanced video analytics assess the footage in real time, recognising the unique characteristics and movement of smoke and flames.
👉 Rapid response – If a potential fire is detected, the system automatically triggers an agreed response, helping you react quickly and protect people, property and assets.

This intelligent approach adds another layer of fire protection, making it particularly valuable in large, open or complex spaces where traditional detection methods may be slower to respond.

At Reflex Systems, we design and install advanced video fire detection solutions tailored to your environment, helping you detect risks sooner and respond faster.
