Feeling very grateful, humble and very happy for a wonderful day out at Royal Cheshire Show today! It has been a doozy of a week with car breakdowns, but with a bit of luck and a following wind and some late night washing on Sunday, I made it down to Cheshire this morning with four of the Birchfield mob and Tony Smith, my wing man for the day!
It was a great turnout this year with 58 quality sheep entered, a credit to all the breeders who travelled from such long distances to attend.

Thanks to Heather Allen for coming and judging and thinking so highly of my sheep today.

For those of you who know, Lascar,
my favourite follow me everywhere, ewe, also won this accolade Royal Cheshire County Show last year, and Matterhorn is her boy! A very special moment for me for sure, with Matterhorn achieving this too! (The face says it all)!

A special mention and massive congratulations to Jack Deakins on his first season showing for winning reserve champion with his lovely ewe lamb. What an amazing achievement!

This is Valais Blacknose Sheep Birchfield 😍

Today, I had the privilege to host three lovely folk, Traci Varley and her mum Dawn and husband, Karl, who are just embarking on their journey into keeping this wonderful breed! Thanks Dawn Field and Christopher M Burch for the lovely biscuits and help in prepping for the day 🤗

I am so proud to produce blacknose sheep with the most awesome temperaments, character AND fabulous breeding, and the sheeps didn't disappoint! They behaved impeccably, doing what my gorgeous valais blacknose do best 🥰

Their natural curiosity and gentle friendly nature shone throughout the day, overcoming the fact that they are usually only used to me, the hand that feeds and cares for them, and embracing our visitors fully! See pics below, Lagginhorn was particularly enamoured with Dawn! 🤗
