It’s taken some time, but I’m finally getting my pink back! 🌸

If you’ve heard of flamingos losing their vibrant colour while raising their young, you’ll know exactly what I mean 🦩

Motherhood - and running a business - takes energy, focus and so much of yourself.

As a VA, I spend my days helping business owners regain their time and mental bandwidth. But recently, with a little extra childcare support, I gave myself that exact same gift.

And it’s been transformative:
🌿Deeper focus: Clearer vision and renewed momentum in my work.
🌿 Identity: Space to reconnect with who I am and what I want.
🌿 Presence: More energy, fun, and genuine presence with my family at home.

Do I feel guilty? Not at all. You can’t pour from an empty cup - whether in business or parenthood.

What I’ve learnt most of all is that getting back to yourself takes time, patience, and trusting the process. A one-hour yoga class helps, but true restoration requires consistent breathing space ✨

Since my son was 6 months old, my days have been a constant, beautiful, chaotic juggle of work calls, nap schedules, laptop screens, and soft play meets ups.

This week, we take a big leap. He starts 3 days a week with his childminder.

On one hand? I am SO excited. Excited for dedicated, uninterrupted deep-work and thinking time. Excited to drink a hot cup of tea. Excited for a tiny bit of “me time” to just breathe.

On the other hand? It’s incredibly bittersweet. It feels like the official end of his “baby” chapter and the start of a whole new era.

To all the working parents currently navigating the return from maternity leave, the childcare search, or the endless attempt to juggle ambition with parenthood - I see you. It’s hard, it’s emotional, and it’s ok to feel relief and heartbreak all at the same time.

Here’s to the next chapter (and to that hot cup of tea)! ☕️ ✨
