Then there were buddies...

So I created the nu way buddy, a handmade educational bespoke doll with a stoma and removable bag.

The nu-way buddies are lovingly made with mostly up-cycled fabrics, this journey began with the use of my children's clothes that no longer fit. Which made each new buddy like an extended member of the family, loved and cherished.

I continue to develop the buddy range and design as I make each 'nu' buddy.

What’s ‘Nu’? ...and what actually is a Stoma?

A stoma is where part of your colon or small bowel is diverted through an opening in your tummy. The body’s waste is then collected in pouches or bags that stick around the stoma. It is often usually a result of illness or in some cases injury.

What is Nu-way?

Nu-way is a term/brand my husband created when we were looking for a name for the handmade dolls I had made to support transition through the process of having a stoma. Our hearts desire was to bring a positive approach to the literally new way (nu-way) of life after this surgical procedure.
