Every year, our Summer Team Lunch gives us the opportunity to pause, connect, and appreciate the people who make our business what it is.

This year's gathering for most of our Sheffield-based team members was a great chance to catch up properly outside of daily tasks, with the added bonus of welcoming Adri back as she returns from maternity leave.

The work we do is important, but days like these are a reminder of the value of stepping away from our screens to connect as a team. A great afternoon and a highlight of the summer calendar.

I’m extremely honoured to have been nominated for not one, but two indusrty awards in the same week — especially knowing these were nominations made by others, so a massive surprise! Usually people tend to self-nominate for wider industry awards so these recognitions genuinely mean a great deal, especially considering the amazing categories 🥰🥰

Very grateful for the nominations and the continued support, encouragement, and trust from the people around me. 💙 Excited for what’s ahead 🤩

Last Wednesday, I had the privilege of speaking at the Women in New Leaf event, hosted at the impressive Shawbrook Bank offices, 40 Leadenhall Street, London City Centre.

The event, brilliantly organised by Lucy Edes, Nicola Stangar & Alice Baggott, brought together an outstanding group of women from across the mortgage and financial services community for a powerful conversation on resilience in business.

We were also joined by main speaker Phil Ball, whose coaching perspective added real depth to the discussion, particularly around mindset, consistency and performing under pressure.

Resilience came through in many forms throughout the session, not as a buzzword, but as something practical and lived: adapting when circumstances shift, staying focused when things get demanding, and continuing to move forward with purpose even when the path isn’t straightforward.

What stood out most was the energy in the room. Honest conversation, shared experience, and a clear sense of ambition for what comes next.

My sincere thanks to the organisers for the invitation and for creating such a well curated and impactful event. It was a genuinely energising afternoon to be part of.
