Kate Giddins and Chelvi Nava have kick started the week visiting a primary school in South London with Phoenix Community Housing to explore an exciting new social value initiative.

‘Engineering Everyone’ www.engineeringeveryone.com – is an incredible concept, created by Chelvi Nava. Chelvi is passionate about addressing a key issue that the UK faces, engineering is in crisis due to a shortage of engineers! Through her series of books, using age-appropriate engineering terms and language, Chelvi aims to capture and stimulate the natural curiosity of primary school children. An early taster that might just pique an interest in a young person, an interest that develops over time and maybe even inspires them to become an engineer when they grow up.

Today we gifted the school 2 sets of Chelvi’s books and started to plan a series of STEM activities that Frankham Group will deliver. We can’t wait to progress this further.

Holly Watson, Founder of the Frankham Women's Network, provided an insightful update on last year's successes and goals for 2025:

"It was a busy 2024 for the Frankham Women’s Network, which now has 57 members! Our most recent well attended meeting was a forum for some passionate discussions relating to how to raise, recruit and retain women within Frankham and the wider industry.

Network activity is gaining momentum, and the committee is working hard behind the scenes to make this happen. We anticipate a productive 2025, progressing a number of exciting projects that are already underway.

One core focus is establishing links with more local schools. We are attending a careers day at Blackfen School for Girls in March which aligns with our commitment to encouraging more young females to consider a career in our industry.

We would welcome the opportunity to share ideas and meet with other Women’s Networks, please do get in touch if you would like to discuss this further."

We’re delighted to congratulate Chris, Associate Electrical Engineer, on successfully completing the LMI Total Leader Programme! This milestone was achieved with the support of his mentor, Roger Waplington, Director at Malstar and Leadership Management International (LMI).

By completing this programme, Chris has learnt some valuable lessons and further developed his first-class leadership skills.
