That said, I've just finished off the blacksmiths hammer.
Made from locally and ethically sourced ash, the bark grip inlay is from the same log as the handle itself making sure we get the most use from the tree we can.

Sorry theres been a lot less posts from me recently, been hectic with life, getting ill and sorting a little workshop.
Im still around though, Im actually back mobile again for the local area and have a refined and easier to read pricelist on the pinned posts of my page so if you want your kitchen utensils so sharp they might accidentally create a rip in time and space itself and doom us all...

Currently working on a dagger for a fellow DND nerd.

Replacing the cheap plastic grip on the handle with a custom wooden one, trying to decide between ebonizing the wood or making the grain stand out as strong as I can to highlight that knot in the top.

Stumbled into the opportunity to get a high quality recording of the sharpening process, so as promised, here is the improved demonstration of what I do to your kit when you ask me to get it sharp again.

I've cut down the video to just show a clip of each step in the process of sharpening the paring knife in this job and the paper test after of both the knives afterwards.

I use the same techniques used on whetstones and diamond sharpening plates, this allows me to carefully and slowly take your edge tools sharper than new, while needing less space than whetstones for liquids.

I use a multitude of stropping compounds depending on the steel the tool is made of, some steels can go further than others but all tools that come through my hands leave them sharp enough to take a finger without effort...I know, because I nearly cut the tip of my own thumb off while making dinner...
