🖋️ Update Your Will Week – 2nd to 8th March 2026

When was the last time you reviewed your will?

Life changes — marriages, children, new homes, business ventures, even changes in relationships. If your circumstances have changed, your will should too.

Update Your Will Week is the perfect reminder to make sure your wishes still reflect your current situation and that your loved ones remain fully protected.

Reviewing your will can help you:
✔️ Ensure the right people are provided for
✔️ Update executors or guardians if needed
✔️ Reflect changes in assets or circumstances
✔️ Prevent unnecessary stress or disputes

Your will isn’t something you write once and forget — it should evolve as your life does.

If it’s been a few years (or longer!) since you last checked yours, now is the time. 💛

MYTH: “Lasting Powers of Attorney are only for elderly people.”

FACT: LPAs are for any adult over 18.

Illness, accidents and unexpected events can happen at any stage of life. A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) gives you control by allowing you to choose who you trust to make decisions on your behalf, if you’re ever unable to do so yourself.

It’s not about age — it’s about being prepared.

At Vantage 360 Estate Planning, we help you put the right protections in place, giving you and your loved ones peace of mind for the future.

If you’re over 18, it’s worth having the conversation.

📩 Get in touch with Vantage 360 Estate Planning to find out how we can help you put your Lasting Powers of Attorney in place, all from the comfort of your own home.

“My partner will automatically inherit everything.”

Unfortunately, this is one of the biggest myths in estate planning.

If you are not married or in a civil partnership, your partner has no automatic entitlement to your estate under the law — regardless of how long you’ve been together.

Without a valid Will in place:
• Your estate is distributed under intestacy rules• Your partner could receive nothing• Family members you didn’t intend to benefit may inherit instead• Your loved ones could face unnecessary stress and legal complications

A professionally drafted Will ensures:✔️ Your partner is protected✔️ Your wishes are followed✔️ Your family avoids additional hardship at an already difficult time

If you share a home, finances, or children but aren’t legally married, putting a Will in place really is essential — not optional.

If you’d like guidance on protecting your partner and your estate, feel free to get in touch and we’d love to help,

Your future self and your loved ones will thank you.

In my personal life, I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to have Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney in place.

Sometimes planning is done with no sense of urgency — simply because it feels like the sensible thing to do. Then life changes suddenly, without warning.

When Wills and LPAs are already in place, families are able to focus on what truly matters. There are no unnecessary delays, no added barriers, and no extra stress at an already difficult time. Loved ones can attend appointments, speak openly with professionals, and provide support when it’s needed most.

This is why Wills and LPAs matter.

Not because we expect the worst, but because having the right plans in place gives families clarity, dignity and peace of mind when life takes an unexpected turn.

I’m incredibly proud of the work we do at Vantage 360 Estate Planning. Knowing that proper planning can make a real difference for families during challenging times is exactly why I founded the business.

If you’ve been meaning to put things in place “one day”, please don’t wait for a reason.

Sometimes, having everything sorted is the greatest gift you can give your family.

✨ Make 2026 the Year You Get Your Affairs in Order ✨

We plan holidays, careers, and finances… but often avoid planning for the unexpected. In 2026, let’s change that.

📜 Will Writing
A valid will ensures your wishes are followed, protects your loved ones, and avoids unnecessary stress or disputes.

🖊️ Powers of Attorney
Life can change in an instant. Having Powers of Attorney in place means someone you trust can make decisions for you if you can’t — giving you control, even in uncertain times.

🏛️ Trusts
Trusts aren’t just for the wealthy. They can protect assets, reduce tax, and give you peace of mind about how and when your loved ones benefit.

✅ Peace of mind
✅ Protection for your family
✅ Clarity instead of chaos

If you’ve been putting it off, let 2026 be the year you finally tick this off your list. Your future self (and your family) will thank you. 💙

Wishing you all a VERY Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁🥂🎉

🎄 Estate Planning Advent Calendar – Day 24 🎄🗂️ Guidance for Complex Estates

If your estate is more complicated — involving trusts, business interests, or flexible planning — a memorandum (or letter) of wishes can be invaluable.

While not legally binding, it gives executors and trustees clear guidance on your intentions, helping them make decisions confidently and in line with your wishes.

Clarity today helps everything run more smoothly tomorrow. ✨

🎄 Estate Planning Advent Calendar – Day 23 🎄⚠️ LPAs Aren’t Just for Later Life

Lasting Powers of Attorney aren’t only for the elderly.
Accidents, illness, or unexpected events can happen at any age — and capacity is never guaranteed.

Having an LPA in place means you choose who can make decisions on your behalf, if ever needed.

Planning early is planning wisely. ✨

🎄 Estate Planning Advent Calendar – Day 22 🎄🎁 Lifetime Gifting & Inheritance Tax

Gifting assets during your lifetime can be an effective way to reduce future Inheritance Tax — but it’s important to get it right.

There are specific rules, exemptions, and time limits that apply, so professional advice can help ensure your gifts are both tax-efficient and aligned with your wider estate plans.

Plan carefully today to protect your legacy tomorrow. ✨

🎄 Estate Planning Advent Calendar – Day 21 🎄💔 Joint Accounts ≠ Full Protection

Many cohabiting couples assume joint accounts automatically protect their partner — but that isn’t always the case.

If you’re not married or in a civil partnership, your partner may be left out under intestacy rules if you don’t have a will, even if you share a home or finances.

A will ensures the people you choose are provided for. ✨

🎄 Estate Planning Advent Calendar – Day 20 🎄✉️ Letter of Wishes – The Personal Touch

A Letter of Wishes can accompany your will, offering guidance to your executors and loved ones.

It isn’t legally binding, but it provides clarity, context, and personal insight into how you’d like things handled.

A thoughtful letter can bring comfort and direction when it matters most. ✨
