Plan to win is the financial advice from award winning CEO

Independent Chartered Financial Planner, Phil Rose, CEO Group IFA at Rosebridge, has proved that planning really does pay off.

Bolton based Rose, who heads up Group IFA, a powerful collective of Chartered Independent Financial practises based in Bolton, Leeds, Southampton, Skipton and Chester, has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Chartered Financial Planner of the Year by the Personal Finance Society. This flagship award is made in recognition of the significant contribution an individual has made in raising professional standards and a superior ability across a broad range of skills.

Phil Rose, CEO Group IFA, said: “I am delighted to have been awarded the title of Chartered Financial Planner of the year by the Personal Finance Society. For myself, I am committed to raising the standards of professionalism, not only within Group IFA but also within the enlarged financial services sector. Within Group IFA, we focus on providing bespoke holistic financial advice, building a long trusting relationship. We develop our people by identifying and nurturing talent, which also makes us attractive to advisers who are knowledgeable, skilled and positive about their role.”
The judging process is tough; of the 25,000 UK financial advisers, only the 5,000 Chartered advisers are eligible to enter the three stage judging process to be awarded the UK Chartered Financial Planner of the year. In a 500-word submission, Rose had to provide examples of professionalism, industry innovation and people training to persuade the judges why he thought he deserved the accolade. Those who are shortlisted after the first stage are required to complete a complex case study; this requires an in-depth holistic knowledge of all areas of financial planning, leading experts then externally verify this. The final round is a panel interview in London with five judges who ask two questions each on a range of subjects; this allows the judges to better understand the skills, service proposition and professionalism of each finalist.
It is clear that winning this award, is more than knowledge alone, it recognises professionalism, trust and builds confidence for consumers that the culture of Group IFA for both its clients and staff are at the highest industry levels.

Keith Richards CEO PFS: “There is no higher accolade than being recognised as a personal finance award winner by your professional body.”

An incredible, energetic, thought provoking piece of work. We're reworking this for 2014/15 to include workshops and other art related projects. Exciting!

“There are too few choreographers prepared to tackle meaningful issues in physical theatre and fewer still who are capable of making such works deserving of the dance description.” London Dance

Early preparations for next year's Centenary Concert on 13 September at the Birmingham Town Hall and Symphony Hall

MILITARY VOICES SINGING FOR THE CENTENARY
Voices from the military community are joining with the Bach Choir to commemorate the centenary of the First World War. Members of the Armed Forces family, past and present, will perform the song, ‘A Shared Singing’ at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall next September, as part of ‘Unfinished Remembering’, a new choral symphony. The words are from a poem by Euan Tait and have been set to music by Paul Spicer, the conductor of the Birmingham Bach Choir, and dedicated to The Royal British Legion.
The choir is a brand new initiative by The Royal British Legion and Birmingham’s Bach Choir who have formed a choir that is open to all service personnel, reservists, cadets, veterans and their families over 16. This has been made possible by grants from the Mayor’s Fund and the Army Community Covenant Fund and will further develop the links between the military and civilian communities in and around the region.
After the first workshop held in mid-October the choir will be meeting again on Saturday, 16th November at 2.30-5pm at King Edwards Girls’ School, Edgbaston Park Road. All who are interested in joining the choir are encouraged to come and find their voice. Paul Spicer, the conductor of Birmingham’s Bach Choir and the composer of ‘A Shared Singing’ will lead this session. Everyone linked to the military community is welcome to join this new group who will be developing their talents alongside the singers from the Bach Choir. The afternoon session will include some vocal training, a first look at the new song and an early run through of favourite Christmas Carols.
Antony Baines, Assistant Director Operations Midlands, The Royal British Legion said: “It is a great opportunity for our wider military community to be a significant part of the First World War commemorations in the City. The Legion is the national custodian of Remembrance so to have backing from Birmingham City Council and the Army for this project gives us the confidence to know that the Choir will be a success.”
Kate Crocker from the Bach Choir and inspiration behind the project said: “Linking Birmingham Bach Choir to a new military community choir is such a positive way to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War. Performing the new choral symphony ‘Unfinished Remembering’ at the Birmingham Symphony Hall with our military colleagues led by Pau Spicer will be very special.”
“We are looking for more recruits! Singers of all abilities are welcome – we all help each other. It is not necessary to be able to read music. The plan is to develop the choir with a series of workshops and rehearsals, singing with a variety of choirs across the city and experiencing different musical styles. Once established and independent, the new choir will develop its own personality, adding to the vibrant musical life of Birmingham and the Midlands.”
