The amount of content from small businesses that sounds exactly the same is honestly getting a bit tiring.

Everyone’s using the same phrases and hooks. The same “imagine if” stories and the same deep fake captions that sound like they were generated from a robot.

I use AI too, but I use it to help me think and to help organise my work, not to replace my personality.

The people who will buy from you aren’t looking for the most polished caption on Instagram. They’re looking for someone they relate to and someone they trust who sounds the same online as they do in real life.

The funny thing is, so many business owners are trying so hard to sound more professional and please everyone that they’re accidentally making themselves sound exactly like everyone else.

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt, it’s that social media becomes exhausting when you treat it like a full time job on top of the full time job you already have!

None of these are revolutionary. It’s just the things I actually do to stop “wtf do I post tomorrow” from living rent free in my head every evening.

If you’re a small biz owner and want to stop staring at Instagram or LinkedIn panicking about to post tomorrow and finally make social media feel easier, save this.

I mean, it’s inevitable you’ll be sat on the sofa at 9:36pm, opening Instagram for the 4th time today and wondering why nobody ever gave you the handbook everyone else seems to have. So save this for that version of you.

For me, social media got easier when I stopped trying to do content the “right” way and started doing it the realistic way and this is how I work when it comes to your socials too.

Save this for when you feel ready to start handing your socials over and you’ve had enough of going through your camera roll full of screenshots of hooks you probably won’t use!

Is it me or are some business owners obsessed with hitting thousands of followers?

I’d take a small group of people who actually care, reply, buy, and pay attention over a big number that just sits there.

What’s the point in 10k followers if none of them are doing anything?

You need the right people actually seeing you, not the ones who are just chilling in your follower count.
