The Pallets Yard Limited buys and supplies quality, affordable second-hand wooden and plastic pallets and is now a leading player in the West London logistics and distribution industry.

Our sustainable business model is designed to reduce waste to a minimum by consistently recovering, refurbishing, reclaiming, and reusing both wooden and plastic pallets.

We take immense pride in our important contribution to the Circular Economy.

The Pallets Yard not only helps to declutter spaces by removing serviceable but unwanted pallets from various sites but also moves used wooden pallets higher up the waste hierarchy, by preventing them from entering the waste pipeline i.e. being sent to landfill.

Damaged pallets are repaired at our Southall workshop, prolonging their usability. Unused timber is salvaged for future repair work, and leftover wood is sent to be recycled as garden mulch or utilised as a source of renewable energy.

Pallet wood, with its durability, strength, and versatility, serves as an ideal, cost-effective material of choice for furniture makers and DIY enthusiasts. It is used extensively in the construction of fences, decks, raised garden beds, planters, and both indoor and outdoor furniture.

In addition, our pallet sanding service will help bring your creative visions to life.

This repurposing of pallets not only extends their lifespan but also breathes new life into them and contributes to a reduction in virgin resource depletion.

As recognized members of Team Heathrow, we have initiated collaborations with two Tier 1 Heathrow suppliers, Wilson James and Bradford Swissport.

A sustainability pilot scheme with Wilson James, centered around the reuse of wooden pallets, has significantly enhanced our carbon accounting, reporting, operational efficiency, and overall business value proposition.

As a proud member of Team Heathrow, Ruth-Anne was delighted to participate as a panellist at the Heathrow Summit in November 2023, discussing the challenges faced by SME, the benefits of working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 companies and the pallet trade.

Another image today from this year’s Heathrow Business Summit, which highlighted ways by which SMEs can help Heathrow continue to grow sustainably.

The Pallets Yard is now part of the Team Heathrow and we have been continually supported on this journey by our business mentors Branduin.

In addition, we have recently been awarded Approved Supplier status by two Tier 1 organisations, Wilson James and Bradford Swissport, key suppliers within Heathrow Airport’s supply chain network.

The Pallets Yard Limited, a busy pallet recycling yard based in Southall, is urgently seeking a skilled, hard-working individual to repair broken wooden pallets, as well as to provide general yard assistance.

This is very physical role, involving lifting, bending and moving pallets throughout the day. Other responsibilities include inspecting, sorting, storing and loading pallets, as well as maintaining a tidy pallet repair space, office and yard.

Pallet repairing experience is very important. In addition, the ability to operate a forklift, use hand and basic power tools including nail guns, replicating saws and claw hammers would also be advantageous, although not compulsory, as onsite training will be provided.

You must be able to work in the UK. A clean, Standard UK driving licence would be useful but not compulsory.

The Pallet Yard Limited is based in an open yard space, so you must enjoy working outdoors, and be able to work under supervision as well as independently.

Reasonable oral and written English and Maths skills are also required to deal with business paperwork, clients, suppliers and site visitors.

Contract: Permanent, full time
Rate: £10.25 per hour
Days: Monday to Friday
Hours: 07:00 – 17:00, based on a 45-hour week
Overtime: Occasional overtime on weekends.
