Brilliant ladies networking session at Ladies Who Latte, Fareham on Friday.

 

We welcomed a mix of familiar faces and new women into the room, and as always, the energy spoke for itself; open, supportive and genuinely engaged.

 

The conversation focused on something that often gets overlooked in networking.

 

Not who you can sell to…

But who could open doors for you.

 

The reality is that most opportunities don’t come directly from the person you’re speaking to.

 

They come from:

- Someone they introduce you to
- A conversation they remember later
- A recommendation when you’re not even in the room

 

That’s why every conversation matters.

 

Even if:

- They’re not your ideal client
- They don’t need your service
- Nothing immediate comes from it

 

There is always a next layer.

That moment when you realise you need to have 'that' conversation with an employee.

Most business owners don’t mind the day-to-day.

It’s the tricky conversations that get avoided.

- Performance slipping
- Something not quite right

And from the employee side?

They might not even realise there’s an issue yet.

- So things get left…
- Hoped they’ll improve…
- Handled informally…

Until it escalates.

These conversations matter, for both sides.

Done properly, they give clarity, support and a chance to improve.

Done badly (or avoided), they create frustration and confusion.

Two years ago, I took a risk.

Frank HR Solutions is 2 today!

Honestly, it hasn’t been easy.

If HR is sitting on your ‘deal with it later’ list, please message me. Let’s get ahead of it before it becomes a problem.

In the last 2 years I’ve:

- Won awards
- Spoken on podcasts and LinkedIn Live
- Delivered menopause talks and sexual harassment training
- Stepped outside my comfort zone and built confidence on social media
- Became a Group Leader of a successful ladies’ business networking group
- Worked as a strategic HR partner to businesses reducing risk, strengthening managers and supporting business growth
- Helped business owners save thousands by dealing with issues early
- Made a real difference in high-impact situations, supporting businesses and individuals through complex workplace challenges
- Supported people across my local community through unpaid advice and networking

And most importantly I work with clients who trust me to do the right thing.

From April 2026, you’ll need to build and keep 6 years of holiday records. Are you set up for that?

Because this has come in quietly under the Employment Rights Act 2025 and most businesses I speak to have no idea it’s landing.
If your answer is ‘I think so but not sure’ get in touch. This is exactly where risk builds.

You’ll need to be able to provide adequate evidence including:

- Records proving holiday entitlement
- How holiday pay has been calculated
- Payments for unused leave on termination

Importantly this starts from April 2026 and you must retain records for SIX YEARS

If you can’t show it, you can’t defend it.

With the Fair Work Agency coming in, this shifts from admin to real commercial risk.
