A little girl got shot on her road, in east London. And it changed the course of her life forever.

Andrea sat down with the straight shooting, straight up talking, no nonsense Maria Arpa, MBE, who goes into some of the UKs most notorious prisons and trains the incarcerated men to become compassionate, develop empathy, and be more self aware. So much so they then come out of prison and start working for her social enterprise that delivers conflict resolution and mediation services, and - as if that wasnt enough already - she creates retail jobs in her chain of 7 charity shops to give them practical skills... to which she then pours the profits from these shops, back into delivering on her social mission - to prevent gang life and have more peace in her community.

Why do a podcast?
.. when Andrea said she wanted to start a podcast off the back of her business mentor proposing it, she was like Ok! Didnt think twice.

Then the reality hit...

The literal reality.

She suddenly had to... plan a strategy.... come up with a name and brand..... book in guests..... figure out how to record, edit and make it come in around 1 hour..... and even get the sound right.

Overwhelm kicked in.

And our fab team member Siri stepped in and helped her muddle through. Turned out Siri has skills! And Andrea has a great netwprk to tap into of inspiring motivated individuals.. so booking guests was easy.

We are all so proud of the work that has emerged from months of hard work, planning and deliberation.... and nearly quitting!

But we dont quit right?

Happy Earth Day from NetShift!

Today is and this year's theme - Our Power, Our Planet - feels really close to home. Particularly after supporting to calculate their net positive footprint last month 👏 🎉 🌳

📊 77% of UK SMEs have already taken at least one action towards net zero - there's far more momentum out there than the headlines suggest.

📊 Only 36% have publicly shared a net zero target. That gap between doing and telling is exactly where a Carbon Reduction Plan makes a difference.
