Well we are still waiting for the final information on the Flexible Furlough Scheme (FFS) but the gist is as follows:

As long as an employee has previously been furloughed you can use the flexible furlough scheme from 1 July which allows the employee to work part time in your business and be furloughed for the rest of the time

If you have employees currently on furlough or furloughed between now and 30 June then they must be furloughed for a minimum period of 3 weeks before you can use the FFS

If your employee is coming back from parental leave of some kind (Maternity Leave, Adoption Leave, Shared Parental Leave etc) then they may be furloughed on their return even if they have not been furloughed before

If you have someone returning from a tour of duty as a reservist in one of the armed forces then they may also be furloughed without being previously furloughed.
