I have 33 years of experience working as a qualified and registered Dental nurse, Oral health educator and practice manager. In addition I posses qualifications in Nutrition and Smoking cessation. My aim is to increase awareness, educate individuals,groups and train staff w
ithin oral health in schools, nurseries, residential care homes, medical and dental practices and to health visitors and youth groups. My passion has always been prevention of oral disease hence the start to support educate and promote educational services to all, enabling support to people in behaviours that promote their oral health and reduce factors that may be harmful. The content of my services is varied and ranges from tooth brushing workshops, PowerPoint presentations and practical training programs, demonstrations and interactive sessions to promote oral health and well-being. Oral health service delivery to Dental practices is by prescription on a one to one patient basis. I also offer training programmes to Dental nurses to enable preventative advice to patients on a daily basis and I will be offering the Royal society for public health Level 2 Award in Oral health promotion course at a later date to be confirmed. Other priority groups within my oral health educational delivery is to include adults and children with special care needs, including people with dementia, stroke survivors, people with severe learning disabilities / brain injuries, and degenerative disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. I also can attend your health promotional events and offer demonstrations and professional advice on oral health to support people in behaviors that promote health.
