We often find that customers buy or inherit extinguishers when starting their business and then just forget about them. It's easily done, you've got a business to run!
Over time, they get knocked, moved out of place and before you know it, they're hidden behind fire hazards, missing safety pins and showing low pressure on the gauge.
A defective fire extinguisher can be worse than useless in a fire scenario, giving a false sense of confidence and, if parts are failing, causing harm to the user if pressurised contents including cold gas make contact with skin.
