Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else for it determines the course of your life

What is in your heart, good or bad will determine the course of your life.

You may ask yourself...how is that so? How can my heart determine the course of my life?

Math 12: 34,35,37 For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. 35 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.
37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

It's the words stored up in your heart (good or bad, positive or negative) and spoken out of your mouth that determine the course of your life. Check what you have been saying consistently over the years about your abilities, your health, your finances, your job, your relationships...and look what you have got. You will generally find that you have what you say!!

If you want to change the words in your heart read Mark 4:3- 20

v3 Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
14 The farmer sows the word

In this parable, the seed/ word sown in the ground is likened to the Word sown into the ground/soil of your heart. Just as the soil doesn't differentiate between the seed sown in it...but only knows to grow the seed, so is our heart...it doesn't differentiate between good and bad words, all it knows is that you have sown or spoken a word and it goes to work to grow it!

So, if you don't like what you are seeing in your life...check what has been coming out of your heart in abundance...check what you have been saying.......and begin planting good words in your heart by saying (like God's promises in the Bible). It will flush out the negative words of fear, depression, sickness, anger, pain, gossipping etc....

Now the course of your life will head in a good direction with a favourable outcome!!

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers 3John 2

To prosper in all things, which includes finances and relationships, it requires our souls to prosper....that is, to be healed from past wounds, free from offence and unforgiveness towards others, to have the 'stones' and rocks of regrets and disappointments removed and healed....then we can prosper God's way. An example of this can be seen from the story below...

Healing through forgiveness

A friend, that was part of our house church group, became home-bound, not able to move around because of her back that had ‘seized up’. This painful condition forced her to have to lie down on the floor of her living room most of the time, needing the help of her family members to get her up off the floor to use the bathroom, etc.

My wife, Sarah and I prayed for her back, sensing that there was 'an issue of unforgiveness' towards her father, that needed to be resolved. As our questions probed into this matter, she revealed that she hadn’t seen her father or spoken to him in years, because of all the abuse she went through, when she was a young girl. We left this with her, asking her to contact us when she had dealt with 'the issue of unforgiveness’ towards her father, in whatever way she felt led to do so.

A few weeks later, I ‘felt in my spirit’ that something had changed in relation to our friend and her father, so I called her up, asking her if she had ‘dealt with the issue of unforgiveness’ with her father. She confirmed that she had, explaining that she had sent a letter to him, expressing her forgiveness towards him, for all that he had done to her.

So, we arranged to go around and pray for her to be healed. When we got to her house, I sensed the Lord didn’t want me to lay hands on her (as we often would, when praying for healing.) Instead, He gave me an instruction to command her body to be healed and for her to rise up off her mattress on the floor and be healed! (John 5:8). So I did as I heard and she responded by clambering her way up from the ground, stood up on her feet and started moving around the floor of the room, for the first time in weeks, without any pain!!
