Yn falch iawn o fod wedi cynorthwyo Gwersyll yr Urdd Llangrannog i gyrraedd y cam hwn. Yn edrych ymlaen at y gwaith caled pellach o gwblhau'r pwll newydd yn 2026.

Very happy to have assisted Gwersyll yr Urdd Llangrannog in getting to this stage. Looking forward to the more hard work getting the new pool completed in 2026.

TODAY (December 19) Urdd Gobaith Cymru welcomes confirmation from the Welsh Government of £2.5 million funding to rebuild the swimming pool at Gwersyll yr

32 years ago I wrote my dissertation thinking I was being rather clever and forward thinking. Today I noticed a very interesting link on my energy providers website. No wonder our energy strategy is in utter chaos when we still haven't implemented a robust way of getting renewable energy from the source to the user. If the data provided is accurate and I have no reason to doubt it given we can't even build a train track without it costing 10's of billions over budget despite then having to chop off huge sections off it, this appears to be the biggest con going in my lifetime. The pre-covid era has brought in a level of household costs that show no sign of ever coming down due to the waste, inefficiency, red tape and the very fact that society is simply expected to just suck it up and keep on paying. There I've said my bit and will crack on with running my business now.

For all those people interested in historic assets and what measures are available to help protect them, here is an excellent guide from CADW.

So as you can see I'm not really one for posting updates. Last one was 6 years ago! I thought I'd try and spend a bit more time from now on informing folk on what sort of work I get up to. It's very varied from architectural design, project coordination, defects inspections, building disputes, party wall matters right through to RICS level 2 & level 3 home surveys. I'm coming up to 30 years in the construction industry and thankfully, I have a lot of very good contacts and associates that help support the business, many of whom were there with me when I first start studying back in 1988 in Leicester. In fact I'd say there isn't much out there that I or my associates having dealt with in the past so this keeps things fresh and interesting.

So I thought I's start with a competition and no that's no a free home survey - think of it as an architectural spot the ball.....

This is a project that I've been doing architectural work to design a new dwelling on the Benar Headland in Abersoch on the Lleyn Peninsular. On this occasion, owing to the sensitive nature of the landscape of the site and as part of the planning consultation, Natural Resources Wales requested photomontages of the proposal insitu.

Can you spot it! There's a before and after to help!

Crack investigation! Mild steel angles and no corrosion protection never a good idea in an external wall - corrosion leads to expansion and hey presto a rather impressive crack!
