Celebrating one year of Wes! Wes joined us a year ago as a Senior Client Relationship Manager and has since progressed to the role of Head of Client Relations.

It’s been a busy first year, and we’ve really enjoyed having Wes as part of the team and seeing him thrive in his new role.

It’s Fire Door Safety Week, a national campaign highlighting the important role fire doors play in protecting people and buildings.

For residents and leaseholders, one of the most useful things you can do is keep an eye out for anything that doesn't look right.

If you notice a fire door that is damaged, doesn't close properly, has damaged seals or appears to have other issues, report it to whoever manages or owns your building so it can be investigated.

At BNS, fire safety forms an important part of the compliance work we carry out across the developments we manage.

Here are some of the key checks we perform when inspecting a fire door:

↔️ Gaps – are the gaps around the door within the recommended limits?
🧯 Seals – are the intumescent seals present and in good condition?
🔩 Hinges – are the hinges secure and undamaged?
🚪 Closing – does the door close properly?

Fire door safety is important all year round, but Fire Door Safety Week is a useful opportunity to remind ourselves what to look out for.

A much tidier finish at one of the developments we manage.

Our team recently came across several unwanted items and litter left in an outdoor communal area. We cleared the fly tipping and recycled them responsibly, leaving the area looking much better.

The before and after photos show the difference clearly – another communal area back to how it should be.

A fresh finish to this pathway at one of the developments we manage.

Our maintenance team recently replaced a number of damaged paving slabs before giving the whole walkway a thorough pressure wash once the repair was complete.

The result is a safer, cleaner and much more presentable pathway for residents to use.

Four years of Catherine at BNS!

Catherine is part of our Compliance team as a Compliance Officer, making sure important requirements are kept on top of across the developments we manage.

It’s a role that involves plenty of detail behind the scenes, and we’re grateful for all the work she puts into it.

One year back at BNS for Becky!

Becky originally joined BNS seven years ago before taking a short break to try something new last year. Thankfully, she found her way back to us and has now been back with the team for a whole year as Client Relationship Manager.

It’s been great to have Becky back on the team, and we’re looking forward to seeing what the next few years bring.

We recently attended site after it was reported the bin store lock at one of our developments had broken.

We fixed the lock and got the door secure and working properly again.

It’s good to see the finished result and have the bin store back in full working order for the residents.

A much tidier finish at one of the developments we manage.

Our grounds maintenance team recently trimmed back this hedge and did a good spot of weeding around the area, taking it from looking a little overgrown to a much cleaner finish.

The before and after of this hedge trim really shows the difference a bit of attention can make to the overall appearance of an outdoor space.
