St Wilfrid’s RC church was designed and built by AWN Pugin in 1842. (Pugin was also the designer of Big Ben tower, the Palace of Westminster, and many churches and country houses in the UK as well as overseas). Our Enterprise Centre was developed within the former church, by regeneration social enterprise Firmstart, in 1994. It contains 24 units on two floors, the first floor being accessible by stairs and a lift. Each office has its own unique charm, with the original architecture on show. On the first floor the ceilings have wooden beams and glazing panels, while on the ground floor there are stained glass windows, decorative pillars and lancet shaped doors. All Units are carpeted and served by single-phase power socket outlets, gas central heating radiators, network connections and telephone points. Each unit in the Centre has its own intruder alarm system feeding to a central monitoring link, as well as a central CCTV service covering the car park and entrances. There are generally meeting/training spaces available for hiring on a sessional basis, as well as a communal break-out area and a kitchen.
'St Wilfs' is accessible 24hours/7 days to tenants and boasts its own car park, with plenty of free parking space. Once settled in your unit you will be offered fast internet, VOIP telephony services and networking opportunities via our networks, website and social media, and using these media we can assist with advertising your business for up and coming events.
