Over the past few weeks, we've travelled the length of the UK, visiting 28 Jewson branches to train teams and introduce our SelectaDNA Tools & Equipment Kits.

The kits are now available at Jewson branches across the UK, giving tradespeople a simple way to mark their tools and deter criminals.

From this week, SelectaDNA Tools & Equipment Kits are on the counter at 28 Jewson branches - Aberdeen, Plymouth, Swansea, Leeds, Glasgow and plenty in between.

We've spent the last few weeks out on the road training branch teams and we're excited to be bringing our campaign to to more tradespeople across the UK.

📰 Great to see SelectaDNA featured in The Guardian!

As copper prices continue to rise, so does the risk of cable theft. In a recent Guardian article covering BT's copper recovery programme, Openreach highlighted the use of our synthetic DNA technology as part of its efforts to deter theft and protect critical infrastructure. Openreach reported a 30% reduction in copper theft during 2024.

We're proud to play a role in helping infrastructure owners protect their networks and reduce the impact of cable theft.

On the final day of Rural Crime Action Week we're looking back at partnerships making a real difference for farming communities across the UK.

North Yorkshire Police : 8,000 SelectaDNA kits issued to 1,600+ farms. Farms using the kits were 96% less likely to be a victim of crime.

Sussex: Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner Katy Bourne funded 1,000 kits for farmers, building on a 52.9% drop in burglary incidents seen in a Rother district trial.

Humberside Police: the Rural Task Force marked over £1.4 million worth of agricultural equipment at community events with local Cadets.

Each kit applies a unique synthetic DNA solution, not visible to the naked eye but detectable under UV light, linking recovered property back to its owner.

Working towards a safer night-time economy in North Lincolnshire.

As part of the Safer Nights initiative, door staff and security teams across Scunthorpe, Brigg and Barton are now equipped with SelectaDNA Defence Spray, giving frontline teams a forensic tool to help manage incidents of violence and disorder.

If deployed during an incident, the spray marks an offender with a forensic DNA solution which can be detected under UV light, helping police link them to an incident.

Delivered by North Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership, working in partnership with Humberside Police - North Lincolnshire and funded by the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner, the initiative is helping frontline teams take practical steps to make the night-time economy safer.

Tackling Shop Theft in North Lincolnshire

As part of a new crime prevention programme with North Lincolnshire Community Safety Partnership, local retailers are being equipped with SelectaDNA property marking kits to help protect high-value and high-risk stock.

The synthetic DNA is visible under UV light and contains unique microdots, allowing marked items to be identified quickly and helping police confirm ownership of recovered goods.

Delivered in partnership with Humberside Police - North Lincolnshire and funded by the Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner, the programme is helping local retailers take practical steps to protect their businesses and stock.
