When did you last check who has access to your business accounts?

Not just who knows the password, but:
🔐 Who has administrator access?
📱 Whose phone receives verification codes?
📧 Which email address is used for account recovery?
👤 Do former employees or suppliers still have access?
🏢 Who actually owns your Meta business assets?

We’d suggest making this part of your regular business housekeeping, ideally checking important accounts every six months and whenever someone joins or leaves.

You can post to your page. You have admin access. Everything seems fine.

But do you know which Meta Business Portfolio actually owns the Page?

We recently discovered just how complicated old Meta setups can become, particularly when accounts and Business Portfolios were created years ago.

Our advice now is simple: each client should have their own Meta Business Portfolio, controlled by the business owner, with employees, VAs and agencies added with the appropriate access.
It’s worth checking BEFORE you need to change something.

And then you spot the problem. The phone number belongs to someone who left the business three years ago.

We’ve come across this more than once recently. Accounts that work perfectly well day to day can suddenly become inaccessible when Microsoft, Google or another platform asks for additional verification.

It’s why your digital handover should be treated just like handing back keys or company equipment when somebody leaves.
✔ Check recovery phone numbers
✔ Check recovery email addresses
✔ Review MFA methods
✔ Remove old users
✔ Make sure the business owner has access
