Small group, plenty of hands-on time ⚡

Yesterday we welcomed our fourth group of 2026 to Energy Solutions HQ for another Victron Training Day.

Designed around a smaller group, the session provided plenty of opportunity to spend time with each attendee, working through questions, practical exercises and real-world applications.

The day covered the Victron ecosystem, programming and firmware updates, local and remote monitoring and an introduction to Node-RED – with plenty of demo equipment to get hands-on with along the way.

Victron training is about more than knowing the products. We want installers and professionals to leave with greater confidence in how the complete system works – and to know our technical team is here when they need support.

⚡ Should your next system be 48V?

As power demand increases, system architecture starts to matter.

More flexibility. Fewer workarounds.

SmartSwitch DC4 has been updated with four practical improvements for installers and OEMs:

• Up to 10A on Channel 4
• Configurable minimum and maximum dimming levels
• Channels that can operate as inputs or outputs
• Invert logic for normally open and normally closed devices

The overall module current rating remains unchanged.
The update supports a broader range of connected loads, smoother LED dimming and direct integration of compatible switches, push buttons and contact-based devices.

Why does LED lighting sometimes appear to do nothing through part of its dimming range?

Not every LED fitting responds evenly between 0% and 100%.

Some have dead bands where changing the setting produces little or no visible difference. Others reach their effective maximum brightness before the controller reaches 100%.

SmartSwitch DC4 now allows installers to set minimum and maximum dimming percentages around the actual usable range of the connected lighting.

That means:
• smoother control;
• fewer unresponsive sections in the dimming range;
• a more consistent end-user experience;
• less need for custom programming or additional logic.

A straightforward configuration change can make the lighting feel considerably more responsive.
