Families receiving Child Benefit should be aware of the High Income Child Benefit Charge (HICBC).
The charge may apply if you or your partner receive Child Benefit and either of you has an income above the relevant threshold. In these circumstances, some or all of the Child Benefit received may need to be repaid through the tax system.
It’s important to review your income position regularly, especially if your earnings have changed, to ensure you’re meeting any reporting obligations and avoiding unexpected tax bills.
📩 If you’re unsure whether the HICBC affects you or need help understanding your obligations, the team at Ashdown Hurrey would be happy to help.
