While Trotec designed Ruby as a modern, web based, all in one workflow platform to replace JobControl, many seasoned operators especially long time JobControl users find it frustrating.

Web App Architecture & Lag: Ruby runs as a web based local application (via Google Chrome/Edge).
Operators complain that it feels sluggish compared to native desktop software, suffers from browser scaling glitches, and occasionally throws local database/login connection errors.
Workflow Friction & "Too Many Clicks": JobControl was praised for its quick, minimalist "print driver" workflow (send from Corel/LightBurn/Illustrator straight to print).

If someone is coming from JobControl or LightBurn, Ruby feels like a step backward in speed, efficiency, and layout control.
However, shops starting fresh on modern Trotec hardware without years of JobControl muscle memory tend to adapt to it much more easily.
